Burns too Quickly
As a vegetarian, I have a limited selection of foods I can smoke, although I really enjoy smoked tofu. Buying a package at Whole Foods is much more costly than just getting 8 oz of Nasoya at my local grocery store, so smoking it myself seems like a great option. I decided to try the Kelly Craig Single Use Smoke Bomb to try home-smoking and ended up with so-so results.First, I should mention I was working with a propane grill. The instructions say to soak the ball of cedar chips (which are wrapped in a muslin bag), wrap in foil, then make a small puncture (through both the aluminum and the muslin) and place directly into the flame. While I was a bit concerned about this, it appeared to work pretty well initially. While it didn't burst into flames, as I feared, it only lasted a little more than an hour before it was totally burnt out. This really wasn't enough time to infuse the tofu with a strong smoky flavor and I can only imagine it would be no different with meat. I understand that to really get a decent smoky flavor takes many hours and this really is too small to accomplish that.Perhaps it would work better with a charcoal grill, but my results with the gas grill were wishy-washy at best. Also, this is much, much pricier than just buying a big bag of mesquite chips.

Easy and Tasty
This was a fun experiment for me. I had never tried to smoke anything on the grill before. Really easy though. Just soak this (Which is actually the hardest part, since it floats) for a few minutes and then wrap it in foil, poke a few holes into the foil and the cloth and put it as close to the flames as you can. I used it to make a brisket.I'd definitely get more of these to keep playing around with them.

One Gas Grill, Nothing Noticeable
I feel like I followed the instructions for using on a gas grill very well. Soaked in water for several minutes, wrapped in aluminum foil, cut slits in foil. Over the the 1.5-2hr grilling of "beer can chicken" I observed no additional smoke or flavor from using the product. The contents of the foil were burned up. Im sorry to leave a bad review, however, it was wasted money for me. Your experience may differ.

Pricey but good
Works well and adds delicious smoked flavor to your foods but I have to say that they are way over-priced. If money isn't an object then I'm sure they'll sell well. But for most people, they are a little too pricey.

it certainly adds a great deal of oomph to your BBQ'd ingredients
A bit on the pricey side, but if you're doing a lot of BBQ, it certainly adds a great deal of oomph to your BBQ'd ingredients. Quite tasty with the additional smoke flavor.

Worked well
Great idea and packaging. Just throw this little gem in your grill and your meats will have a super flavor with little effort. Worked well and made my salmon taste great. Imparted a smoky flavor without a lot of trouble.

Easy to use. Taste difference is subtle
Easy to use. The flavor it imparts is not dramatic, but definitely noticeable. Not sure it is totally worth it to buy these.. but is nice for a special treat
