These casters are exactly what I needed to replace 1.5 in wheels originally on my Dobermans heavy duty dog crate. He is 95 lbs and the crate I believe is about 75 lbs. Long story short, if you divide the 75 lb by 4 and then add the weight of my dog if he's sleeping in one corner pudding all the weight on one caster the original casters can only handle 100 lbs and we're only 1.5 in wide. Putting the weight in the corner of the crate would put over a hundred pounds on that wheel so if he jostles about it will bend the plate that houses the bearings and it has bent on a couple of the wheels and when I roll it around it gets harder for the wheels to swivel because bearings are starting to come out of the old wheels. These new 3-in upgraded wheels not only can handle a lot more weight but actually roll very smooth as you can see in my video I'm using one or two fingers to roll this thing around. I should have recorded a video with my Doberman in it so you can see the extra weight but nevertheless they are excellent wheels for a very very good price here on Amazon. They actually arrived on time as most things I get from Amazon and the brakes are fantastic in not only preventing the wheels from moving but also prevents them from rotating 360° as well which is a big plus in my situation. I'm not sure exactly why there is a little disclaimer saying that these casters are a frequently returned item because they are actually amazing and work very well. Here is a funny story about the casters nothing wrong Just a funny story, my Doberman was in the crate for a couple hours and when we got back, my wife and I, The crate had moved from its location across the hall near the bathroom door with him in it mind you and all his jostling about in the crate lol.. As I mentioned before, having the ability to not only lock the wheels but to lock the 360° swivel is a big plus in my book and I've said it before it works for my application very well. What can you lose? You have 30 days to return them if they are not a good fit, so you might as well try them out and see if they work. Just make sure you get the right stem size mine was 3/8 in and 1-in stem so it worked perfectly for my application. Once again, I purchased the 3-in wheels. Heavy duty and working good for my standing desk

Top quality 4 inch locking swivel wheels. Simple install, 3/4 inch locking hex nuts provided. I used these wheel to replace the smaller, 3 inch non-locking swivel wheels on my new “high end” shop chair that I recently acquired. These larger wheels roll over floor obstructions better than the stock 3 inch wheels on the brand name chair. I also get an extra inch of height on the chair that fits my needs better. The locks are great because they are simple to flip on and off. I use the locks in my sloped driveway when I wax my cars. The brand name chair wheels have locks available but the lock lever alone are ala carte and $50 for a set of 5! I bought these cooler looking and more functional 4 inch locking wheels for $10 more than the ala carte 3 inch wheel locks wheel lock levers for the wheels that came with my new chair. That leaves me with 3 spare wheels because the chair requires 5 wheels so I bought 2 sets of 4 wheels. One note on the included “wrenches” with these wheels. They are close to useless and look like wrenches from a kids erector set from the 1960’s. It helped having a 3/4 inch deep socket and ratchet and a 17mm thin bicycle cone wrench. 17mm fits a 3/4 hex nut perfectly. Hope that helps!

I returned these, giving up on getting the right diameter of the stem. However, I wish they had fit. They seems sturdy and would roll smoothly. Importantly, they would support the weight of my heavy duty steel shelving that is 189 lbs by itself and holds 8,000 lbs fully loaded (advertised capacity, but I had no plans to load it that much.

I put these on and old heavy craftman belt sander. The sander moves easily and saved my back from man handling it.

I think these are very expensive, but they do work well. I use them to put my displays on for my craft shows and roll them in and out of the trailer. The wheels are more stable than the displays themselves mostly, lol.

Work great on my heavy floor barn fan. A lot easier to move the fan around to where I need it. The locks keep the fan from moving.

Casters seem decent for the money, but don't seem that robust. But I'm not sure how well they will hold up to long term use. The mechanism that locks the wheels in place doesn't feel very strong. I've already had the mechanism that keeps the caster from rotating when locked fail on one of the four wheels.
