The best way to crush and grind herbs and spices, perfect for making pastes, pesto and dressings. This dish was thrown on my pottery wheel using strong rustic stoneware clay, and I've finished it in a lovely dark royal blue reactive glaze. The large pouring lip makes it easy to tip out the ground up contents. The wooden pestle is one I brought back from a recent fact-finding trip to Japan. The grinding process is made easier by the unglazed stone surface's natural texture. The bowl measures 12cm across and 7cm high. Weight 400gms.
