Good concept, good design and good specifications
First, if you haven't used a dashcam before, it is a really good idea. Disputes over the cause of a car accident don't happen very often but they do eventually happen to all of us who drive and they are extremely stressful, especially when the other person lies. A dashcam gives a fantastic advantage in that situation. I have had tried two dashcams before this one and they have several problems which this one overcomes. The most obvious advantage is that this one doesn't use up real estate on your windscreen. Siting the cam on the windscreen can be a problem if you want to mount a phone or satnav as well. More importantly, I used my first dashcam for a year before I needed it and then I couldn't get the numberplate of the other vehicle because the cam was mounted outside the windscreenwiper zone and a few raindrops blurred the view.Dashcams are notorious for dreadful instructions and complicated menus that are difficult to use. This one will take some effort but is less confusing than my previous experiences. At least it is set up to start working automatically as soon as you start the engine so you can get by without looking at the instructions or the menus though at some stage you will want to explore the settings. It also has touch screen capability, making the menus generally much easier. The build quality is good and it is reasonably priced. the picture quality is good and it has all the features you want such as crash detection, looping, automatically freeing up memory, sound recording and an optional reverse camera (which requires more complicated wiring). There are a few points to bear in mind:You will lose the ability to tilt the mirror to reduce glare at night. The reflection is roughly half way in between the two options on a normal mirror, which means the image is a bit dark during the day.You need to run the cable along the top of the windscreen to the side, then down and back to the centre of the car in order to get power. To do this you will need to find some way of securing it to the panelling or it will hang down in front of you. The illustration shows the cable running to the right so that it goes on the driver side but the USB socket is the other way round so the cable is directed to the left. If you want to be lazy, or struggle to secure the cable, you can just drop it straight down to the power socket. It's ugly but short and simple. It doesn't come with an SD card. You will need to buy it separately. They don't cost much nowadays but don't forget to add that to your budget. It requires power from your cigarette lighter so, if you use any other devices in your car which draw power you will also need to buy an adapter. I have one with two cigarette lighter sockets and several USB charging sockets and it works very well (and reports on the status of my car battery). It doesn't require any tools or complicated operations to mount it on the mirror but you will fiddle with the rubber bands for a few minutes. It is best to hook the bands on the top before mounting the mirror, and don't plug in the cable until after. When it first switches on you can see what it is recording in the mirror. This makes it almost impossible to use the mirror. To correct this you need to go to settings - brightness - 1 minute. The image will then switch off after 1 minute (though for that time you will barely be able to use the mirror). The photos show the mirror in normal operation when it works as a mirror, and what it looks like when the image is on. The third image is the reverse camera (which is less useful and I haven't installed it).

... cam is really tiny and also a really helpful smart gadget and is so much fun to watch it ...
The media could not be loaded. This SENDOW Dash cam is really tiny and also a really helpful smart gadget and is so much fun to watch it back on a high quality video how is your driving habit. Good to know that some insurance companies can give you up to 10% off, if you report to them, that you are recording while you are driving. It came in a small sized box, looks really minimalistic and simple and was so easy to open. Inside I found my new mini dash and the accessories: a Car bracket, to mount the camera on your windscreen, one USB cable to connect and sync the dash cam with a computer and a Car charger. User manual included too, well-written, easy and understandable language with lots of illustration even for not too tech savvy people. This is my advice how to install the dash cam:1. Attach the dash cam to the front windows and check, if the lens of the camera is centered.2. Rotate the body of the camera to adjust shooting angle3. Hide the wire along the headliner4. Hide the wire between A pillar to B pillar5. Hide the wire between rubber to A pillar6. Hide the rest of the wire underneath the carpet7. Plug into the cigarette power socketThe camera lens works on 150-degree wide diagonal viewing angle, witch is not the best on the market but compare to this small sized device I think is still acceptable, captures cars beside you, before they even come into your peripheral vision. Maximum Video Resolutions: 1080P/720P. Obviously bigger resolutions will fill in your memory card quicker then with smaller resolution. Also featured with loop recording. This process is a never-ending one: at the end of the memory card, the recording process continues to record at the beginning, erasing the previously recorded videos and replacing it with the new videos. Daylight recording is superb, license plates can be easily read from far away and the wide-angle lens captures cars beside you. Night vision is clear enough to identify cars and close license plates, for the price I can forgive the grainy night video.Good value for money, will save you headache if you have to prove whose fault was the accident (if you will have any). Can save you on long run, on the insurance and also can check how your teenager or wife/husband drives, sneakily checking their driving habits out or checking where they have been during the day :)

Good quality dashcam
Bought this as a secondary dashcam for the wife.I personally have the Yi Dashcam as I got it on a deal here, so this will be a direct comparison.GOODThe interface on this is clearerThe instruction book is clearer and easier to use.Image quality is good and clear day and night (this is the important thing!)Doesn't cut out and has inbuilt battery to save recordings in the case of sudden power lossThe mount is strong and stable and has an option to connect the power straight to it for ease of useBADDoesn't come with MicroSD card (neither does the Yi though)No WiFi option for downloading videos to phoneUses Mini USB connector and not Micro USB like almost every other device nowadaysMost of the negatives are minor gripes that don't really change the experience in general. Overall this is an effective dashcam that does the job, and if the price is good it's a good alternative to more expensive options. It runs quietly and in the background as a good dashcam should do - and only when you need it do you need the video from it which is why it is important to get a good quality dashcam you can depend on.
