Good starter reel but there is a learning curve
All my reels before this have been spinners - I've wanted to try a baitcaster but didn't want to shell out the money that some cost. This was a good, affordable option and I like how well it is made given the cost. I had no problem spooling line on the reel and attaching it to a rod, and I love the look. I've only used it a few times, and although I do like it, I'm still trying to get it dialed in and learn how to use it to get real precise. I'm not using real heavy lures or weights on it since most of my fishing is for bass and panfish, but it is nice to get the line to drop right where I need it instead of in the lily pads or on top of a log close to shore. I definitely recommend this to anyone starting out or just wanting an extra baitcaster for a second or third rod.

Light bait casting reel for a reasonable cost
This lightweight bait casting reel will allow you to use light weight, fishing line, smoothly casting and reeling. The reel looks nice performs well and all for a very reasonable price. Buy a corresponding light action rod and good quality fishing line and you’ll have many hours of enjoyment

Very smooth
This reel casts and retrieves very smooth. Happy with it for the price.

OK at best..takes lots of dialing in
This is a cheap and decent but no where near great baitcaster. It takes a LOT of dialing in or lots of thumb pressure to not get rats' nests. I would recommend spending a few more dollars and getting one of their higher tiered reels.

Works good
Great value for the price. It is well put together, the mechanics work good, adjusting the brake and drag, etc. Haven't caught a large fish yet with it, but it handles the 2-3lb bass no problem and I'm sure it will larger too. If you fish everyday, it won't last a lifetime, but if you occasionally fish, there is nothing wrong with having this nice reel in your arsenal of tackle. I like it, smooth too.
