First of all thank u Amazon! I had crazy nasty flakes and redness. And I’ve tried so many other things. It got rid of all my flakes and redness. No lie it’s the best thing ever. But if you need to go out on date or anything like that I wouldn’t use. It smells like a ford f150 with 300k miles just had its first oil change ever. If you are looking for something that would help you from snowing on all your clothes I would recommend this highly just know it smells bad. It’s worth it to me and my redness and dandruff is gone. I hope this helps you like it did for me. Because I tried so many things for years and everything was just trash with no results. But this ! This right here is the Jordan of dandruff shampoo (psoriasis is what I got) . Price is too cheap if you ask me. But dam does it smell bad. You do get use to it though kinda. If you’re still reading this just know it worked right away for me. Literally after 3 uses I had my redness and dandruff disappear like Epstein .

This shampoo is equivalent to Nutragena T-gel shampoo. I have scalp and ear psoriasis and this shampoo keeps it controlled. I find the Amazon brand just as effective as T-gel with a better price. This is a Coal tar shampoo and does have an odor it. I use a pleasantly scented conditioner and I don’t notice the tar aroma on my hair. If you have scalp issues like psoriasis or eczema I highly recommend this shampoo.

I’m a review reader. I seen so many people talking about the odor and was concerned. It is in no way that they describe unless they got a product I didn’t. While it’s sitting on your head while you’re in the shower then I can agree that it’s very noticeable. Then you rinse it out. No problem after that. Odor is gone. My dermatologist told me to use this 2-3 times a week.I’ve only used it twice now and am writing the review to calm anyone’s nerves about this stench that was too often mentioned. Nothing to it really. It will smell like the active ingredient but I feel they’ve done a great job of making it where the odor vanishes after use. I’ve only used it twice and am noticing positive effects. Had been using other prescription shampoo but this is already looking like it’ll be the winner. Best of luck to you all. I had brain surgery leaving me pretty scarred up and skin irritated years later. I’m excited this project exists at the price point it costs. Good luck all finding what works for you. I have had great results with MG217 3% coal tar shampoo but it's been out of stock for a while. About a month ago, I decided to try this and have had mixed results. I really wanted to like the Amazon Basics shampoo as it is substantially cheaper than other brands. I used this 3-4 times per week for the last month and it works pretty well. However, it doesn't completely get rid of my flakes. I expect if I used it daily, it might do the trick but I think I need something stronger. The MG217 on the same schedule did eliminate my dandruff. The MG217 has a strong tar smell but I find the Amazon Basics doesn't. Some reviews have complained about the smell but it didn't bother me. The bottle size is too small. After a month, I'm half empty. MG217 is a very thin shampoo (think brown water). This Amazon shampoo is a thicker gel. Both lather ok but I much prefer the Amazon. Overall, I like it but I wish they had a 2% version.

Worked very well. I've been having trouble with what I thought was dry skin/scalp for a while. I kept having it behind my ears and other places. Then one day I saw white inside my ear. So I tried this and it cleared up the problem with my ears and my head. I can't be happier. The smell is not great but it's also not bad. The Head and Shoulders that I used to use was a worse smell. This worked so quickly and so well that I don't even mind that it isn't a fruity good smell that I would prefer. I'm just so glad my cracked dry ear problem is gone now! I thought it was just dry skin! Anyway, I will be getting more of this, definitely.

Works great for itchy scalp for psoriosis. Looks harsh but isn't

My scalp actually feels CLEAN for once. I have struggled with seb derm for YEARS & after one single use of this product I had to share that I have never used anything that has helped as much as this product does. After one use it has genuinely cleared my scalp of 95% of the itchy, flaky scales I have lived with since 5th grade. Unfortunately the smell will peel your eyelids back but that is a small price to pay for a flake and itch free scalp for me. 5 stars even if the smell is so abhorrent I’m a little embarrassed to go to work tomorrow smelling like this lol

I’ve used it once, it smells really horrendous. Like a railroad tie. I smelled it in my hair even after a couple days with adding other product in. It is truly strong smelling and supposedly not very good for you and could cause cancer with prolonged use. I will only be using it a few times to clear up a red itchy spot on my scalp.
