MTXGENERAL-10 Polaris General Amplified Subwoofer Enclosure

This is a lot of sound for the tight clean look it provides. Two person install is prefered though not necassary. This 10” sun provides more than enough sound for what it it. 2 thumbs up for sure

Well, where to begin? This sub is a mixed bag. On the plus side it comes with almost everything you need to install it. On the negative side it's got it's flaws.First, the mounting plate doesn't line up even close to the sub. The holes are all off so you can only install a few of the screws. Second, the wires come out right at the gas pedal and there is no place to tie them up. Third, as I said it comes with ALMOST everything you need to install it. Missing is a set of RCA cables to connect it to your media player. Also missing is the ignition wire. The one connected to the sub is only a few inches long, you'll need it longer to reach the fancy ignition terminal under the hood. Fourth, while not really a negative for the driver...you lose a couple inches of leg space on the passenger's side.So, how's the sound I bet you're wondering. It's not bad at all. Give it a few hours to loosen up and flex a little easier. Once that happens the bass is pretty good. The box has it's rattles and issues as it's just plastic. My biggest issue is that there is a gap between my MTX soundbar and the sub. I think the soundbar bottoms out at about 300Hz or so. Sub kicks in around 80-100Hz it sounds like. I'll need to do more testing before I decide if it's an actual issue.All in all, I can't recommend this sub to anyone except the most diehard music lovers. It definitely adds some punch. But it's not the best sound.As a side note, if you are hooking this up in a General Deluxe with the MTX soundbar, you'll need an adapter to connect the two devices as the soundbar has no RCA outs on it. Cost from MTX was $40 plus $5 shipping.EDIT: So the mounting plate DOES fit...sorta. We had to bend in one of the tabs, the one where the wires are and had to use longer screws to line up the middle of the plate and then most of the outer screws fit. They go in at funny angles but all do go in. Having this mounted properly makes all the difference. It's sound has gotten much better. Keep in mind we had an arsenal of tools at our disposal and 3 people to push on the one side while we lined up the other. This install was not as easy as I was expecting. Due to this fix, I've bumped my rating up 1 star.EDIT 2: So the sub lasted a little less than 2 months before the amp gave out. I was swapping between BT and AUX on the head unit, heard a loud thud...sub died. Got a hold of the seller, they put me in touch with MTX. The return was quick and painless other than having to pay over $80 in shipping. The sub they sent back was used...and had a lot better sound. Really liking the sub now. Not bumping up a star this time though as it did die and I had to spend MORE money to get it warrantied.

I have got 3 replacements on this product and the product keeps blowing. I would not recommend.

Spent almost an hour trying to install this. No matter what I tried to do, it would not line up. So I took it back out and checked to see if the mounting plate holes matched the threaded holes in the speaker.....THEY DID NOT!I don't know if I got a one off mounting plate or what, but when 4 holes were lined up, 1 hole was off slightly, 3 more holes were off almost 1/2 hole diameter and the last hole was off by close to 90% of the hole diameter!I had to enlarge the holes to be able to use this.I haven't wired it yet, I hope that goes better!

Quit working after 3rd ride. They replaced it and 3 months later the speaker blew out. Has China cheap mtx speaker in it. Not happy with this.

It’s nice , a little over priced for what it is ,but overall a good product. A little side note it needs anti vibration mating installed all around the enclosure.

Has great base and fit in perfect in my general. Only suggestion is adding some kinda foam around the water proof box to stop any rattling

Fresh out of the box the speaker is coming apart. Not cool! I bought the sound bar adapter however this DID NOT come with long enough av cords. Also have to add wire to the blue remote power wire... when spending 500 on one speaker I was expecting everything ready.
