1/32-1/2" VME Keyless Drill Chuck, 33 Jacobs Taper mount
Love this chuck!!!!! perfect all around. not a wobble or a slip. came perfectly clean and ready to install. (I used alcohol to clean the taper due to OCD but was not needed to) the part is very smooth and feels professional. Well worth the price!!

Modeled after an albreight chuck, which is verya high end.
Good for now.

Cheap knockoff
The performance of this chuck is very poor in comparison to the Albrecht it's obviously meant to be a copy of. It's ok for small drills used in soft materials, but is very prone to slippage with larger bits or when drilling into harder materials.

Precise
Bought this as a upgrade to my Delta drill press which originally commes with a (sloppy) keyed chuck. This is high a quality chuck with hardened jaws and very little tolerance. The hardened jaws require deft hand tightening of the drill, otherwise it will get stuck under load.It has holes for spanner wrenches if more tightening is required.I am happy I bought it. It elevates the drill press to a new level of precision.

Good purchase.
Finally, The key chuck gets "chucked". Received it fast and installed it fast. Money well spent. Good purchase.

Professional Drill Chuck for Garage or Hobby Use
Very professional drill church for garage or hobby use. Chuck holds the bit very secure with no slipping under moderate loads. Tapper fit and easy to install.

This keyless chuck is better than the old keyed Craftsman RJ33-13L chuck that it replaces...
This VME Keyless Chuck did in fact fit my Craftsman 34" Radial Drill Press, model 149.21334, in place of the original RJ33-13L chuck which is no longer available. It is slightly larger in diameter and 40% longer, but that isn't an issue. The jaws open and close fairly quickly, with six spins of the chuck from fully open to fully closed. The jaws release a bit with just a small movement. Unlike a keyed chuck the keyless jaws spin while tightening to a bit, but I can get used to that. I tested a few bits from 1/16" to 1/2" and the chuck seemed to hold the bits true. My chuck is etched "1mm to 13mm" but the packing slip says "1/32 to 1/2". There are three tapered holes near the top of the chuck for a tightening/loosening wrench of some kind, but none was included. I presume it isn't really needed. The topmost collar ring is to hold onto while snugging or loosening the chuck. It arrived in a small styrofoam-lined plastic box, but there were no instructions of any kind as to use, installation, disassembly for internal cleaning, or periodic lubrication. Nor was there a web site reference to find any. Probably none are needed. By the way, these chucks are just held in place on the tapered shaft with friction. Not having real wedges to remove the old chuck (a piece of tapered hardwood as a wedge didn't work) I carefully used a crowbar tip to break the the old one free. Then the VME chuck was tapped into place with a rubber mallet. I will update this review as I gain experience with the chuck.
