Simple, descent press
Simple design without measurements. Works really well. The screens are great! I used it with regular pre-ground coffee and didn't have a single ground in my cup. It works and it isn't plastic, so I highly recommend it!

Great for one person only.
Great quality and zero "blow past" on the coffee grounds. It's got a very classy look too. If you're making for two people though get a larger size.

The unit feels cheap
This Gulex French press is functional, but the material quality is not so good. Upon arrival, a small piece had broken off from the plastic base. I proceeded to wash the unit before it's first use, and had no problem getting the parts clean and re-assembling them. I just wish all of the components had more substance. Overall, the unit feels cheap, but it makes decent coffee. This particular French press wouldn't be my first choice because we accidently break stuff in our house.

a nuanced take
amazon broke the first shipment because they used zero packaging to ship this GLASS item. that's stupid of them.now that i've got a new unbroken one, it's a french press. this operates smoothly, and i use the natural lines to measure out an even amount of coffee and water. i don't drink cheap coffee so generally speaking it's gonna taste pretty good no matter how you cook it, but i've been using a french press for several years now, so i gave this a shot.since it's all glass i wouldn't use it as a football. oh, you probably want to hear about the coffee more. so far, no grounds have circumvented the mesh. my other target ceramic french press the mesh eventually wore out enough that grounds always get past. this one comes with replacement mesh, so that's thoughtful of them.good basic clean unit here
