This is very easy to set up, plug it in and screw the outside piece to a wall..I bought this as a gift for my 89 year old Mother , so she would know when someone was coming to the door. She loves it, can’t have anything that moves around it, like a hanging plant, it’s very sensitive to movement, which sometimes is a pain because it’s hard to eliminate all movement. She lives near a road and the trucks set it off, but she says it’s ok , if she looks up and see what it is she’s good.

The range is ling that's for sure. So long that we were getting unwanted alerts from around 100ft or more and had to reposition it. Its very sensitive too. Now when the wind blows hard the rose bushes set it off. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for all the false alerts. I wish I could adjust the sensitivity on it. If I could do that I would definitely give it 5 stars.

Seems to work really well. I have no problem picking up coverage of the entire driveway. Even with a large tree nearby I'm not getting many false alarms. I use it with the receiver plugged in to a wall outlet so that is not a problem but I'm curious as to how long the 9V in the sensor will last.Suggestions for improving it: Make the loud setting a bit louder and add a flashing light only mode to the receiver. Other than that well worth the price.

I have been hunting for one of these for quite some time. I'm glad I chose this one! The sensor is small and light enough that I can hide it behind my no trespassing sign next to my mini security siren I use to welcome people to get off my porch. The sensitivity is wonderful as it hasn't false alarmed for birds or reflections in my windows. It has altered me every time a person was at my door. The receiver is great because it plugs in and works without batteries in it. It's about the size of a light switch cover so it easily blends in on my wall. Idk how but the signal travels through my steel door without a problem. The alert sound is great at the low level during the day when we are downstairs and we switch it to high at night when we are on the second floor of the house. I'll definitely consider this again if I decide to protect other areas.

I INSTALLED THE UNIT, TESTED IT OUT, & IT WORKS EVEN THROUGH MY METAL SKINNED MOBILE HOME. I HUNG THE TRANSMITTER ON MY RAILING NEXT TO THE STAIRS ON MY DECK. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE POST OFFICE REFUSING TO RING MY WIRELESS DOORBELL WHEN THEY DELIVER A PACKAGE. LAST MONTH I HAD AN AMAZON PACKAGE STOLEN FROM MY DECK. NOW I'LL BE ABLE TO KNOW WHEN THEY DELIVER SOMETHING I ORDERED. THIS UNIT WILL BE EXTRA PROTECTION ALONG WITH MY 3 INTERNAL SECURITY DEVICES. NOW I HOPE SOMEONE DOESN'T STEAL THE TRANSMITTER (I DID INSTALL A SCREW ABOVE THE UNIT TO HELP PREVENT AN EASY THEFT OF IT). UPDATE: 6-13-19. I HAD TO MOVE THE SENSOR, BECAUSE IT WAS AIMED AT THE ROADWAY, & CARS WERE TRIPPING THE ALARM 20' AWAY. THEN I BOUGHT A WINDSOCK FLAG THAT WOULD TRIP IT WHEN IT MOVED FROM A BREEZE. I NOW HAVE IT SECURED ON THE HANDRAIL, THAT FACES THE OTHER HAND RAIL, SO NOW IT WILL ONLY TRIP IF SOMEONE GETS ON MY DECK. I LIKE THAT IT COMES WITH AN A/C ADAPTER, SO I CAN SAVE ON "C" BATTERIES.

I have this same motion detector but it was from a different company. Was hesitant about buying this one but excited that it came with an AC adapter. Batteries are expensive. I was pleasantly surprised that the base unit actually alarms for both of my motion detectors. This product includes just one motion detector but the detector from my previous purchase works with this one, too. Added bonus. I have two of these now and highly recommend. Even on low volume, this would awaken you if something, or someone, crosses its path. I use this as my "alarm system" in my house. Yes, someone could get it without an alarm, but once they were in, alarms would go off and, if they don't run away, they would be very sorry. Great Product!

I bought this to use as a portable alert for when a handicapped loved one wants to go to the bathroom. It will be checked for outdoor functionality when warmer weather comes. So far the sender detects movement clear across the main level of my house. It can pick me up moving in the dining room while having it set to watch her in the living room. It detects her fidgeting with her blanket before she actually tries to get out of her chair without help. One sender battery has lasted us a month now and the receiver is used plugged into the electric outlet.

This thing is driving us nuts! It is way too sensitive! It goes off all the time and for what reason, we don’t know. We moved it several times but to no success! We get so sick of hearing it that we just unplug the unit. We will try and put some black tape to cover part of the sensor and see if that will help but if it doesn’t, then we’re done with it and in the garbage it goes!!!!
