Special open ended watch strap needed on many vintage watches which have a fixed loop to fasten the strap to, rather than the more modern lugs with spring bars. (it will still fit a modern watch - just cut away the old strap, leaving the spring bars in position, and thread through.) The strap threads through the fixed loop on either end of the watch, and is then closed in position with metal closures similar to a paper-fastener

I spent ages trying to find an affordable strap for a vintage Military watch. This matched the original. Far better than a NATO strap as keeps the watch flush on top of your wrist.
