Deluxe Traditional Indian Spice Box - Masala Dabba - with Two Lids and Custom Handle! Excellent for storing and using spices quickly!

I read the reviews before ordering this item so I sort of knew what I was getting into. The box itself is lovely and useful. The problem is that, like many other reviews indicated, it came with the stainless steel lid dented in many places and had some fine scratches on top. The clear middle insert was fine unlike other customers. I went to exchange it but Amazon will only return it and I would have to repurchase it and take my chances. I decided to keep the box because I like it and I really need it. If you can live with imperfection buy this product. If you want pristine condition, purchase this elsewhere.

Ordered this and was hoping for the best based on the other reviews. I was disappointed. It came looking like it had survived the shipping but when it was opened the inner lid was cracked all the way through from edge to edge. There is a handle which has a screw going through the inner lid and it appears that this is a very weak point and the the lid cracked through the screw hole. The inner lid is plastic. I wish this had arrived intact but am on the hunt for another Masala Dabba which might work better.Thanks for the return policy of Amazon.

This spice box is perfect for me. I do quite a bit of Indian cooking. One of my concerns has been keeping bugs out of my spices. The lid on this box fits just tight enough to keep out pests - but not so tight that I can't lift it easily. I like that you can see the spices from the top. It looks beautiful on the counter. The box arrived in perfect condition. This spice box has been very useful for making dals and curries. If you do Indian cooking I think you will enjoy having it in your kitchen.

I was looking for such an item for quite some time and I found it on Amazon. The Glass lid allows me to see inside the container and the inner plastic lid prevents mixing of the spices. It is just the right size for my purpose. The number of individual inner containers are perfect for keeping the spices required for day-to-day Indian cooking. I wish there were individual spoons for each spice instead of just one spoon.

I bought this yesterday and the product arrived in good condition. I like it - it is well made and fits all the main spices needed in Indian cooking. You may be able to find a better deal at a local Indian grocery store but check the quality of the store one before you buy it. This definitely is high quality product with 7 good sized containers and an inner lid to protect the spices from mixing.

The cups fit well, and the ring/lid slides on fairly easily. We've owned this many years now, and while we no longer call upon it daily, it is a nifty way of putting similar spices together like curry, cinnamon, cardamom, allspice etc. The powders hardly ever mix together due to the plexi lid.

I ordered 2 of these and they both were not as pictured or represented. The product did not even match the box picture. There was no inner lid just open containers. I was extremely disappointed! I wanted to use these for spices while traveling. Without the inner lid this will not work.

I liked the way this looked and when it arrived the metal was all nice and shiny, and I'm actually okay with the size of the inner containers. They look like they'll hold maybe 1/4 cup or so?That accounts for the one star that this earned because otherwise this thing sucked. Mine was also missing an inner lid as a previous reviewer mentioned, so there'd be no way to keep the spices from intermingling other than to manually cover each one with plastic wrap. The little spoons inside look cheap but I wasn't expecting much there anyway so whatever. On top of that when I opened the lid I saw the glass was horribly scratched! Unlike another reviewer, this one did not have a plastic protector and the scratches were right in the glass. Since this is supposed to be a birthday gift for my father obviously that is completely unacceptable and it's going straight back.
