Storm shad replacment.
I have been using storm shads exclusively for striped bass fishing. The problem I was having with the storm shads were the quality control. I would have to sort through half a dozen packs to find a set that didn't have their weights off centered. Off center weights cause the shad to swim on its side.So I purchase a few of these. I do admit they are alot more expensive but it appears to be well worth it. First off in person it looks amazing. It's hard to tell it's not a real fish. 2nd is the swimming action. It swims with just the tail and not the entire body. It really imitates an actual fish. I often wondered if the violent tail flailing actually detoured some fish.Last night I took the kids out actually no put it to the test. My son caught 2 fish with this lure while I caught zero on my trusty storm shad. To me that makes it worth the extra money. I can't tell you how many times I have had to give friends storm shads so they could catch fish too.

Caught 2 fish on the its first and last trip ...
Caught 2 fish on the its first and last trip. I notice it swam on its side when I was retrieving it. The reason why it's the last trip for this lure is that the soft rubber tail was ripped off by the 2 fish I caught. The fish were't that big either, both were 16 inch striped bass. Even though it did catch the 2 fish, $10 each is just too steep of a price.

Super effective bait, but could be more durrable
These live targets quickly became a go-to bait for myself and a lot of people I fish with in SW Florida. They are probably the most effective search bait around, just about any fish around will eat it. This is my go-to bait for Snook, reds and whatever else is around when I'm fishing a new spot. I've probably caught 100+ fish and 10+ species on these and the mullet since they came out, but I find myself not using them as much anymore because they're soo damn expensive. $11 is normal for a hard plastic lure, but these are still soft plastics and they can get beat up pretty fast. These last quite a while for snook and reds and they usually just split a bit where the hook comes out, but all it takes is a bluefish, mackerel, or a pufferfish to take a bite at it and it's gone. 2 times I've thrown out a brand new one and had a bluefish destroy it first cast. This starts to add up after a while and now I've gone back to jigs and hard plastics instead unless I'm sure theres no toothy fish around.Awesome Lure, but they can get expensive.
