Very bright
I only say 3 stars because I havnt it long enough to run the battery dead, or charge it, so I am not sure how long a charge lasts. But it's extremely bright. The hook and magnet work very well. The book is a little flimsey, but the magnet is very strong. So far, I would recommend it to my fellow shop light users. The price was about as good as you'll get for this quality of product. I shopped a round a lot before picking this light. Update: I've had it over 6 months, use it all the time, and still havnt had to charge it. I like to do my own work on my truck. Lots of times work means I cant get to it till after sunset. This things awesome to stick under the hood, or anywhere metal. The magnet is strong. The unit is incredibly sturdy. I dont recall if it was advertised to be water proof, but I definitely absent mindedly let it sit on my bumper over night during a rain storm. It still works great. It gets knocked around a tool box all the time. Still no damage. Great buy

A decent Under Hood Work Light, but this version is not magnetic.
I just received this unit, and to be clear, this is the "Under Hood Work Light" -- there are two entirely different products being sold here on one page, as if they are color options, but they are entirely different items. I do not see any other reviews of this item here, so:First, there are no instructions provided with this item. This is no too much of a problem, since the pictures here on Amazon and some logic were enough for me. It would be useful if some instructions were provided, because I can foresee others being confused by how this will attach under the hood.Next, the item I received is not capable of one of the folds shown in the Amazon pictures. Not a problem for me, but note that two other pictures clearly show that picture #4 is for a different product, and not this one. If you need the light to fold in that way, and I cannot think of a situation where that might be useful, then be aware that the item I received does not fold with the lights facing each other, but only so that the lights both face in the same direction. (Note that the seller may change the order of the pictures or delete the one I am now mentioning, so if this part of my comments appears confusing, that may be the cause.)The light has three modes: bright, dim, and flashing red. These seem quite useful. The flashing red capability would be very useful if towing a vehicle or possibly marking a disabled vehicle alongside the road. This is not well described in the listing, but is a very nice feature.I expected the product to be magnetic. Many mentions of such a feature are in the reviews. However, these comments are for the "black" product, and not the Under Hood Work Light. I had wanted this item to be magnetic, because that would greatly improve its versatility, but since it is not, it limits its use to the "under hood" and only a few other cases where I need a light such as this.Another nit to pick is that the clear lens over the LEDs had a protective film which extends into the housing. The protective film is a nice idea, because the lenses will not be scratched when I receive it, but I cannot remove the film entirely. The remnants of the film are trapped by the housing. I considered using a sharp knife to trim the film close to the housing, but then decided against it, since this is a work light and it does not need to be so pretty. However, the manufacturer could have easily left the film short of the housing, or pulled it back slightly when installing the housing. As it is, it looks sloppy.I gave this product 4 stars, based mainly on two factors:1. You cannot use the light from mains power. When plugged in the wall, the light shuts off. The charging receptacle is located on the rear of the unit, so it must be removed from the hood to charge. This is all rather inconvenient, and I would only "love" this unit if I had the option of using it while running from AC. As it is, I need to charge it before using it, which delays my ability to get to work. The rechargeable battery is a nice thing for portability, and other cases where AC is not available, but this would be atypical.2. The inclusion of two unrelated items on one page by the seller is confusing, and in my case, led me astray on the features of the product. However, this unit does seem to be a very useful product. So far, the batteries last long enough for a day's work, and it is built rather sturdy, so I find it is worth the cost for me.

Better than expected
We received this product on time, but took me awhile to put a review since it was for a Christmas present.Let me give you a quick backstory: My friends had the name brand one that my boyfriend has been wanting for years, but it was always so expensive! So I waited and waited for one that was a bit cheaper, and multipurpose (because I don't like buying things that only have 1 purpose. I like them to have a few - makes me feel like I'm getting my money's worth). This Christmas, I found this one, read reviews on multiple sites and decided to pull the trigger and get it.So far, it has worked amazingly. We used it for the first time yesterday while working on the car. It was already bright in the garage (daylight plus regular lighting), but putting this under the hood made everything even more visible. We are very happy with the purchase. Since we already read a ton of reviews, knew some of the minor drawbacks (like having to turn it on/off in the sequence) but feel it didn't detract too much from the product. If that's my only complaint about a product, then I'm happy.Still very new, but so far so good! Very glad I bought it :)

I like it and if it's still good in a month I'll buy another.
This is a great little light from my first impression. Bought it for a Jeep and tent camping light source. I'll charge it from our solar bank with the DC adapter. Quality appears good, doesn't "feel" cheap. Two strong magnets on back and one that pivots on end, sticks good even on thin sheet metal and the pivot detent stays put. Two very functional hooks that stow away nicely perfect for hanging in tent. AC and DC rechargable. Switch has a good tactile feel, push once for spot, push again for flood, push again to turn off. Flood and spot are both adequate and met my expectations. I like the overall design and features a lot. Honestly can't think of anything I would change. Durability and battery life to be determined. Will report back.Bonus keychain light is pretty handy and puts out a decent amount of light for a single LED.

Batteries won’t hold a charge
Light is bright and the stand feature with hood mount option is great, but the rechargeable battery is junk. I have charged it for multiple days and tried using it twice since June, but both times the light goes out after less than 10 minutes. Not worth the $90 price and cannot return after 30 days.

If only the battery was good
So far I've had this light for almost a year. I use it perhaps once a week for underhood repairs on my car collection. The pros are it has a decent spread of light, works in various situations and has soft hood hooks. I like the 2 level brightness switchability. On the brightest setting it's almost too bright for under the hood so I've used the low setting just about every time. Having said that, the only real issue is the battery life is poor. At most I get 2 hours on a full charge, but most times it's closer to 1.5 hours. One of my employees has a professional light from one of the big tool companies and he'll get at least 3-4 hours on the lower setting. Get what you pay for i guess, but it shouldn't be too hard to put a better battery in it and still come in at half the cost of a Snap-on lamp.
