the instructions are easy to follow, and the sourdough starter makes tasty sourdough loaves. About six months ago I got tired of the bread I could purchase in my town of Nipomo. I tried every kind of sourdough that I could find. I knew that I could do better, but I needed a starter to make it work. This simple to use starter kit got me on the right foot. Baking sourdough bread is a chore but worth the effort.

This is really not a sourdough starter kit , but it is a sourdough mother starter kit. I think the distinction is a bit important. I do like this set. Having two makes it a bit easier when you need to divide the mother in the early stages and you want to try to grow both. This is simple yet effective. Recommend for sure!

I would definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a starter container. The glass seems sturdy enough - I'm not afraid of breaking it when handling or cleaning it, and it is a wider mouth so very easy to pour, stir, and get in there to clean. The covers are nice and I like that there are choices between the breathable one and the silicone top. It is big enough too that I'm not afraid of my starter running over. Overall, I am very happy with this product and would recommend.

I really like this 2-pack kit! It allows me to keep my starter in one while I build up the second to make a loaf. Or I could build-up both in order to make a double batch. I'm a little unsure about the thermometer stickers; they didn't work that great on my aquariums as a kid. I do like the measurement lines and the "last fed at/on" bands. The cloth covers are great for when it's active and the silicone "boots" are good protection for the glass. The boot would be nice as a cover if you wanted to let it chill in the fridge but I rarely have enough space in my fridge for a jar of this size. Overall, I'd recommend it to friends who jumped on the sourdough wagon with me.

Reviewing Tyniaide 50oz/1500ml Pro Sourdough Starter Kit – I’ve never made sourdough bread before, but I love it. Seeing this kit sparked an interest in me. I know you can use a stainless or glass bowl, covered with cheese cloth, but why use up a cooking bowl when kits like this exist?I love that it includes a feeding day band that also tells you how much it’s grown. That makes it so much easier for me. Much easier than needing to put it on my calendar, so I remember. The temp gauge is awesome also, so it’s easy to tell if I need to move the starter to a new spot in the house for temperature control.I am a beginner, so I only ordered the kit for one starter, rather than the two-starter kit. I googled sourdough starter and found several simple starter dough recipes ahead of time that are all basically the same, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with detailed instructions, including a starter recipe. It took me less than 10 minutes to get started. This set is great quality. It’s also compact to store when not in use since all the accessories can be stored inside the glass vessel. I recommend it for any beginner.

This is a fantastic sourdough starter kit it literally has everything you need to get started as well as great instructions on how to feed your yeast, the temp, measurements, etc. I did not know sourdough was going to be such a time consume hobby but very very rewarding and great knowledge on how to.This was such a great kit so much better than my typical jar and top that I was originally using. This gives me a little more peace of mind on making sure my starter keeps growing and going without any issues. I highly recommend this kit for anyone looking to get into the sourdough yeast staring club or those who are already in the game but looking for a new and improved way of keeping your starts going. Highly recommend!

The jar is large, both jars are actually. I don't really like the wooden handle but the silicone thing does come off for easy cleaning which is nice. The thermometer was easy to put on too. The silicon bottom for the jar is great to keep it from sliding around on thr scale too. I used the 2nd jar as a discard jar. Even decided this would be a great gift for someone later on, so will need to order another set eventually.
