Great traps! Read for tips!
I’ve tried many types of traps and these are the only ones that have worked for my mole problem here in Central Florida.Tip 1: Wear gloves when handling the traps. Moles have a good sense of smell and might avoid the trap if they pick up a human scent.Tip 2: Don’t arm the trap in the mole tunnel like the instructions say. These traps are heavy duty and you really have to step down hard to set them. Often times this destroys the tunnel so badly that the mole just avoids the area altogether and digs a new tunnel around it. It also causes your trigger plate to get mashed down into the soil, which isn’t good. Instead, go to a different part of your yard that doesn’t have any tunnels and arm the trap there. Push the jaws down into the soil a little and then step on the top plate to open the jaws and arm the trap. Then, very carefully pick the armed trap up and move it over to the mole tunnel. Put your fingers on the outside (on the rectangular bar/frame, away from the jaws) and your thumbs on top (keeping light downward pressure on the top plate). Holding it like this is safe and will prevent it from triggering. I’ve done it many times. See pics for finger/thumb placement. My pics only show one hand cuz my phone is in the other hand, lol, but obviously use both hands when doing this. One hand on each side. Just be mindful and move slowly and you’ll be fine. Go over to the mole tunnel, find a somewhat straight section and flatten it with your foot. Don’t crush it completely, just flatten it. Then place the armed trap on the flattened section with the jaws lined up so that they will close on the tunnel (just like the instructions say). Keeping your hands/fingers/thumbs in the same position as described above, push the jaws into the ground, making sure they are even on each side of the tunnel. Push in until the round trigger plate just barely touches the flattened soil, and then let go. You are good!Tip 3: Be patient. It might take 2-3 days before the mole goes back through that section of tunnel and triggers the trap. Just leave the trap as is and check on it each day. After 3-4 days though, if you haven’t caught your mole, then it’s probably time to move the trap to a different tunnel and try again following the same procedure.Good luck!

This works!
I had my doubts when I ordered this that it in fact would actually work. Well let me tell you it works exactly as it says! Not overly hard to set and see if it has been tripped. I would highly recommend.

These actually work!
Thes3 actually worked. I bought the spike traps first. Not saying they didn't work but, when they went off you never seen the mole. These scissor traps shows you that it was a successful trapping. We caught 3 in 4 days and 4 in a little over a week. I wish I would have bought these earlier. I give them 5 out of 5 stars. My yard actually looks nice again

I just works
Like a lot of people I tried several options that I thought were cheaper- deterrent, poison peanuts, poison worms. The deterrent slowed the destruction, but did not stop it. I lost a good weeks worth of yard destruction trying other methods.I’ve caught two so far. This in less than 2000 SF area- so not quite loners like I thought.we live in the red clay of Georgia, so even soil under grass is very gummy thick and affects the trap. So the first time I just pressed it in and the mole just went straight through. So my tips:1 set and trip the trap multiple times in place until tripping the trap snaps trap closed quick.2 use a small planting shovel or gloves to remove some grass/dirt below the plate. This make the trigger easy to set off when the press dirt toward it. I think this also loosens that soil so mole will try to reopen his path vs. making a new one underground.3 and of course you need to test the tunnel to make sure they are reusing- poke a hole and see if it’s closed later in day/ next day.The first time I set it correctly in evening, I caught him in morning. The next time I noticed new tunnels in a new area and could tell the path the mole took to get to the new space- I quickly moved a trap to that path- caught him with 3 hours! This thing is awesome!

Requires patience
I was getting quite disappointed... had it for about 3 weeks, and moving them around every few days... It's not like I don't have plenty of moles in my yard... it's a target-rich environment. But every day, I'd check, and there'd be no movement.Well, finally, yesterday, I saw the spring had popped on one of them. Bingo! One down...Now hunting down the rest of his family!!So yes, it can work. Be prepared to work for it though.

They work.
They work as advertised. At least for me. They are a little hard to set.

Limited to soft soil conditions.
In compact soil the trap is not easy to install. The lack of a wide foot print on the “legs” cause the trap to set unevenly on the softer side of the ground you are setting the trap in. Had one mole live the trail and go around the trap. It is very important to condition the soil under the trip mechanism between the jaws.

Cannot release mole by foot
This item is solid. But you cannot release a mole by foot because these traps swivel and won’t give you a solid base to step on. I had to use my hands to simultaneously balance the trap while pushing down and opening it by hand.
