The media could not be loaded.  I make Melt and Pour novelty soaps, so had to try this out and the colours are lovely.They each have a 2 tone shimmer. Very pretty but if using in soap, be aware the effect seems to fade after a couple of weeks, and there's some transparency, so add a little of your own mica powder colour also 😉See my video for the results

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a big fan of the Let's Resin brand; it has a lot of great products and often packages them into really useful trial-size kits like this one, which are excellent value, so you get to really experiment with a product that's new to you, and get a feel for it and for where exactly you want to spend your cash.This is a mixed set of Chameleon Mica Powder, so it will reflect and change colours as the light hits/refracts through it via the interference effect. It can be added directly to resin, but goes a lot further if you dry dust it onto the surface to create the effect, then back with a solid colour to help show it to its best advantage. You can completely change the look and almost the hue of this product depending on the choice of colour that you back it with. Dark colours will enhance the strength across the spectrum of the mica's tones and emphasize the colour shift, whilst lighter colours will soften it or help emphasize particular tones. You can also mix it with any other mica powder, as well as different tones of chameleon mica.Remember to mix mica well, as the individual colour flakes are different weights, so certain colours will drop to the bottom of the jar. You really need to shake it, and then let it sit for a few minutes before you use it. Same if you're mixing your own mica colours.Also remember to varnish or otherwise treat finished pieces with a protective surface. You can varnish it pretty easily with a UV varnish, or by casting a thin top-layer of good UV resistant clear resin before casting my thermochromic layer. I say UV-resistant here only because you don't want that top layer to yellow and discolour. Chameleon Mica is pretty stable and safe to use, though I wouldn't want to breathe it in, or handle it too much in quantity. I'd definitely wear a mask and gloves.The Let's Resin set is nicely presented in a little cardboard box. The individual pots are nice and sturdy with a screw-on lid. Each jar is 5g, which is enough for several projects. The kit is small, but quality mica pigment isn't cheap. This makes a great starter experimentation kit, at a good price. A fun product and very suitable for its job. Well worth a try!

I have always loved the look of colour shifting paint on cars, so couldn't resist trying some mica powder for my resin projects. Its definitely one of the more interesting powders I have tried so far. It has very fine glittery particles, that shimmer in the light as you move it around.The pots are very small, but another reviewer had a great tip for making it go further by dusting it onto the mould, which I will definitely give a try for larger projects.Overall I am very happy with this mica powder and can't wait to try it out on a larger project.
