Logs work and look perfect. Been putting these in the last several houses I’ve built to sell. Log sets from the hearth and grill shop that installs my fireplace inserts are over $1k These work just as good for a fraction of the cost

Returning to Duluth Forge. Product is poorly designed. It ships with a thermostat tied to the lower frame with no instructions to remove for use. Until I figured it out, the unit would cycle off in about 3 minutes due to extreme heat. However, even after removing and placing outside of the fireplace insert, it only lasted about 5 minutes before shutting off. This is not a "fireplace". It's a heater and even that doesn't work properly. There is a pilot light but when the flames cycle off due to hitting the temp setting the pilot also shuts off. It basically doesn't really cycle at all without relighting the pilot. As for the flame, there's on one setting - full blast. You're not able to adjust the flame height at all. There are 5 temp setting for the thermostat but I've yet to get the flames to burn for more that 5 minutes at a time.

I had a vented fireplace that came with the house I purchased. It was a little concerning to me to see heat go up the chimney not really benefiting from the flames. I did a lot of research and landed on this one. I was a little skeptical reading some of the negative ratings, but there are always some negative ones. Taking a chance I made the purchase. The instructions were simple and I have some mechanical skills, which will help you.Once I connected everything I was highly impressed. Although it is 60 degrees outside now, the room immediately heated up. I am glad I made the purchase. Well worth it.

These are a great set of logs for the price. BUT1st set arrived broken and would not light. I was NOT able to return through Amazon! 🤦I had to buy a 2nd set through Home Depot. 2nd set worked.As others have stated, you MUST undo the metal zip tie under the unit and separate the copper thermostat from the logs or it will shut off after a few minutes. If your logs are shutting off on their own it's because the copper thermostat is too close to the flames.Hopefully this saved you some troubleshooting. Logs work great when set up correctly!

This did not have a remote with it. Kinda sucks because you literally have to crawl on the floor to see the hidden controls to operate it. Keeps malfunctioning, and only had it in a few months and the control knob is broken. I wish there was a remote, may have made this much easier

While installing a gas fireplace is no fun when it comes to hooking up the gas line, it’s totally worth it. This one is a little challenging because they don’t really leave you a lot of room to work. The gas line has to enter from the bottom or the side and there’s about an inch and a half of room. But once you heal up the skinned knuckles, it’s worth the effort! The thermostat works perfectly, the temperature is steady, and mine heats my whole house. I would recommend this to anyone, but get expert help having it installed.

Purchased the product for our lake house. Do to being busy at work, I was not able to install it right away. As the cold weather came in, I had to get it installed. Once installed it would not stay lit. I called customer support, spoke with them for nearly an hour. They said I would have to send a part of it back to get fixed because it was out of the 30 day warranty policy. I had to purchase a different one to keep the pipes from freezing and it works great. Upon messaging them back and forth they still refuse to refund my money and take back the defective unit. They tried to blame it on gas flow (even though I had a plumber check it, I even gave them the plumbers name and location). I would implore anyone in the market for a fireplace insert to look elsewhere. After trying more than 3 different times to resolve this issue they refuse to take the unit back because I was over 30 past the point of purchase ( I was 11 days past the 30). I will now have to contact Amazon to help with resolving the issue. As it stands I am out over $300 with an insert that will not stay lit and the company will not stand behind their product. Sad

Great product easy to install, instructions could be a letter better but overall love it
