I was raised on a farm and we had one like this one. When my parents sold to farm in 1968 and butter churn got misplaced when moving. Spent many hours making butter as a kid of course this was after milking the cow.Tried this thing same day I bought it. Was a little impatient and never let cream get room temperature. After churning this thing about 1/2 hour with no results I got the idea of putting the churn in pot of luke warm water and in less than 10 minutes I had butter. Just made some more butter today, let cream get room temp and put pot with warm water and in less than 10 minutes I had butter. Now going make a pan of biscuits. Brings back a lots of good memories about coming up on a farm.Every else in this crazy world is changing but my good memories will never change.

This butter churn is of high quality; the jar is made of glass, and the gears and mechanisms operate smoothly, just as they are designed to. The jar is safe for the dishwasher, but the lid must be washed by hand and allowed to air dry. Making homemade butter and knowing exactly what goes into it is a wholesome experience, and the taste is unparalleled. It also instills a sense of pride, realizing that the butter gracing the table was crafted by your own hands. Additionally, it's a great activity to occupy the children for a while.

The media could not be loaded.  I was so excited to get this, for no reason. When I took it out of the box the handle had already fallen off and none of the gears are on tight enough to make it work. So the gears on top don't spin correctly and the churner panel on the inside doesn't spin at all when you turn the handle. I guess I'll take it apart and try to put it together in case I can get it to work myself. This costs too much to not work at all. Very disappointed.

Starting with the actual product, it is well made and will work great for making butter. The mechanism is smoothe and I like how the paddle is made. Although, the paper insert needs a lot of work. There are things that are written in there about people who are overweight or pregnant which is totally inaccurate and inflammatory. Outside of this, there are multiple misspellings and it makes reading the information difficult. Happy with the product, but not with the package insert.

This is a good sized hand cranked butter churn. The jar is large and heavy duty, however it is NOT an actual Mason jar. The handle is comfortable to hold and the mechanism turns smoothly. If you've never made butter before, you will need a couple wooden or silicone paddles to help you work out the excess water from your butter. Wooden spoons can be used in a pinch but are a little more fussy, you'll find yourself stopping more often to scrape butter out of the bowl of the spoon. It will be helpful to check out a few videos using these kinds of butter churns if you have never done it before. This is a nice addition to my kitchen!

This is fun and useful. It has caught the attention of all my family members. They have been experimenting with different ingredients to make flavored butter. It is simple to use. You put your ingredients in the jar and start spinning the handle. It does take awhile. But, it’s a great way to get others involved in making butter. The jar is a fairly heavy glass. It washes well in the dishwasher. The upper device is made from sturdy materials. It is easy to turn. The plastic spatula type device washes easily. I have been washing it by hand. The thickness of the product depends on how long you churn it. Overall, I think it is a great product. We have used it several times with great results.

Came with everything shown and easy instructions. Can't wait to actually use it and make fancy healthy homemade butters. Easy to clean the size of a standard mason jar.

The product itself came quickly. But the handle nut and washer fell off with unboxing. I want to preface the rest with, I make butter every other weekend or so. I just use a mason jar and shake/pound it over a heavy pillow. Anyways I fastened the washer and nut back unscrewes will trying to churn heavy cream. So much so, that after 40 minutes or so i had only foamy whipped cream. It's a fail.
