Iron Stop 8012 Solar Powered Spinner Motor

Lasted 3 months before the spinner stopped though the motor could still be heard running - I would have thought in the recent hot weather it should have lasted longer but maybe the sun was just too hot for it !!This is a sealed unit so repairs would seem to be impossible though I did use a Dremel to expose the gearing - nothing seemed amiss and I will evidently have to bin it and look for another. I thought of battery powered but apparently if caught in rain it can damage them. While it worked it was fine but 3 months !!

the item turned up promptly and works well, although being a solar powered spinner we could do with a bit more sunshineperhaps we will be lucky later in august many thanks.

Neat addition to my garden wind spinner. Works well but needs to be in full sun to spin. Considering it's size I would have thought there would be room for a small battery to charge when the sun is out and then keep the unit spinning when there is no sun. I'd recommend this item so long as you have a sunny spot for your spinner.

For any one who has the Iron Stop Chime you need to purchse this item easy to use just point the solar panel to the sun and the spinner rotates all the time The two items in my opinion should be sold as a complete set.My crystal spinner did not work untiill I purchased the solar pannel. This spinner motor does exactly what it is supposed to do. As long as the sun is out, the wind spinner turns gently and continuously ... very different to leaving the wind to turn the spinner (which never worked). Very pleased indeed. Thank you.

bought for my partner's garden wind spinner. It seems to be handling the weather conditions ok but we will see leading into winter. So far it's been spinning for the last three or four months - rain and shine, I think winter will be the big test! But I'm staying hopeful!

After having one delivered that was faulty I was sceptical. I ordered another one and love it. No problem having a re delivery it does make a noise if you have it inside as I do but outside would be fine. It only works when the sun is shining on it but it does give it a good effect. Much better than having to pay for batteries.
