Cannot Recommend This Book Enough
I absolutely cannot recommend this book enough. IF you have a son, this book is a must have for your home. Durenda Wilson completely opened my eyes to the uniqueness in boys and how to expand and bring out their God given talents and drives. She gives real life examples and easy to remember tips. This book is an easy read and very short; but full of meaningful advice. If you have a son and are even thinking about it, do it. You will not regret it.

My all time favorite parenting book
This book was written so well. If you are a mom of a boy or boys this is a must read. I was always feeling frustrated by my boys, never understood what I was doing wrong, they are wild and silly and goofy. This book filled me with hope, and faith, and gave me so many useful tips and changed my entire outlook. I have suggested it to so many friends and fellow boy moms who have also loved the book. On challenging days it’s the first book I pick up and I always take something positive, still after reading it multiple times. This book began my love for reading and growing as a mom! 10/10!! (I have since ordered 2 more of her books. She is a great writer and mother!)

This book was great!
After finishing, i definitely know this was The Lord working through vessels who loved Him and submitted everything to Him. This book was realistic, painted a clear picture and gave my heart so much ease for understanding my son— I already started letting him be a boy with confidence in who they are and have great tools in the vault with the constant reminder it’s not this book even, but God.Moms, I say get this book. This is so necessary for our minds, hearts & souls to understand.Short enough to be able to live your day to day life as you’re diving into homeschooling and everyday life. Long enough to have hit all necessary topics. This is a great book for all moms with boys, even if you do not homeschool.

A MUST read for any boy moms
Just like Durenda’s other books, this one did not disappoint. It is just as wonderfully packed with biblical wisdom and so relatable to the everyday mom. I enjoyed this book and could have highlighted the majority of its content written. I most definitely will be going back to read again just like I do annually with the Unhurried Homeschooler. I recommended it to our Christian homeschool group as well since there are so many boy moms. More than 5 stars once again. Thank you Durenda for sharing your life’s experiences with the world to teach us to be better mommas and how to disciple our boys well. You and your families journey is a blessing to all who read. Thank you for your honesty and transparency. If you love this book, check out her podcast- it’s been so life giving for me for so many years. Many subjects covered hit me right when I’m in a storm or need encouragement. It is literally my constant go to podcast. You will love her even more! Highly recommend!

So practical and encouraging
I loved this book. I homeschool three children (girl, boy, girl) and I was not raised having any brothers. There’s a lot I know about raising a boy when he’s little, but coming into puberty and beyond, I feel completely unprepared. I love how direct and practical Durenda’s encouragement and suggestions are. This book didn’t feel wordy or complicated, but I felt I personally could relate to many of her stories and scenarios. However, i also have a solid support in my husband and she does lean heavily on that throughout the book. I was very encouraged by her useful ideas for “Disciplining and Training” her boys. Plus the steady reminder throughout of the “why” and end goal in raising our boy. My biggest take away was I don’t have to parent from a place of fear and reacting, but that prayer and action are my most powerful weapons. I will be buying multiple copies of this book to share with friends who also have boys.
