Everly Forever.....Great vinyl album.
If you're looking for the "one" best hits vinyl, this is not it. Many of the classics are not here. What you get is an excellent sampling of early Everly hits. The sound quality of this Warner Brothers pressing is not the best, but not bad. It's a clean recording with simple acoustics and clear vocals. Go for it.

"It's a modern changing world; Everything is moving fast..."
Between 1957 and '59, Don and Phil Everly scored 14 hits for CADENCE Records. After moving to WARNER's in 1960, their success continued (especially in Britain!), another 37 charters, the last in 1968.Issued by WARNER BROS. in 1962, THE GOLDEN HITS OF THE EVERLY BROTHERS was available on both a gray mono (W 1471) label and a burnished gold stereo (WS 1471) one. Eleven of these dozen cuts were charting singles. On "That's Old Fashioned," the familiar Everly sound is augmented by a small brass section. "How Can I Meet Her?" includes spoken narration and a wailing Bruce Channel-like harmonica. "Crying in the Rain" is a pop masterpiece that has incredibly deep bass tones and extra-clear percussion. A marvel of mixing and engineering. "Don't Blame Me" is s slow minor key 6/8 ballad with a lead guitar that dances around the melody. Its bridge has a Bolero-like start. "Ebony Eyes" may be a reflection of the brothers' Marine service. The vocalist is on a "weekend pass," waiting for his future bride to arrive on a plane that never arrives safely."Cathy's Clown," this set's megahit, epitomized pop music at the beginning of the 1960s. "Walk Right Back" is propelled by a swaying rhythm heavy with off-the-beat tom toms. Their cover of "Lucille" gives this Little Richard classic a country flavor. Except for occasional twangy guitar, "So Sad" has the simple arrangement of early Everly tracks. Densely-scored "Muskrat" is this program's hard-rockin' novelty.Includes release dates plus highest Billboard Hot 100 and UK chart positions. Everly eyes
This is a fine collection of great Everly Brothers songs from their Warner Brothers years. It originally came out in 1962, so it doesn't include later hits like "Gone, Gone, Gone" and "Bowling Green". The CD is only 30 minutes long, which is rather short, but if you don't want to get the comprehensive two disc Warner Brothers set, you might want to get this one.

12 Tracks, that's it??
It's the same 12 track hits package that Warner has been selling for over 40 years. What's on it is just fine; the best of the Everly's 1960-1962 singles. Plenty of room on this disc for "Gone, Gone, Gone", "The Ferris Wheel", "The Price Of Love" and "Bowling Green", as well as album favorites like "Love Hurts" and "Made To Love". All in All, 5 star tracks on a 3 star disc, averages out to 4 stars.
