I got this for the display and if that's all you use it for it's fabulous. Also, the USB charging is a great perk! But as an alarm it's pretty awkward to use. The buttons are tiny and recessed making it extremely difficult to use. The unit is stylish and snazzy. The brightness in daytime is fine. Nighttime brightness--it's set to dim itself between certain hours such as 6.00PM-6.00AM--is quite dim, perhaps too much so. Yet having the unit dim while you're trying to sleep is a plus, so night brightness is a personal preference. And it is adjustable if you don't mind fiddling with those tiny buttons.UPDATE: It's been one year and the LED is unreadable and has been so for 4-5 months. Sections kept fizzing out. So I've downgraded my rating from 4 stars to 2.

It's now been 7 months and already the L.E.D. display is failing...Dimmer & dimmer it gets... no Quality. Spend your money on something with better Quality. Possibly there just are no quality clocks since all might be produced in China. Like most Chinese products... failure comes quick

I bought two because they are nice looking clocks, BIG MISTAKE!!! I found them slightly difficult to set, and especially hard to change the time from 24 hour display to 12 hour display. And after about 3 months one eventually stopped displaying parts of it's numbers, so when I had my last power outage, I decided to throw them both away. From now on, if I see anything on Amazon (or any online seller/distributor) I think I'll just buy one of item, and give it while before I buy another, so that way I'm not stuck with two bad purchases after the return date has expired.

Cheap. Developed a short after 4 months of use. Now, if you want it to work, you have to hold the power cord forward while pushing the clock back. An additional complaint is that the auto dimmer — that dims the display when the lights are off — is really just two levels; super bright for daytime use, or super dim barely readable for midnight use. If your ambient light is moderate, for example, while watching tv, the dimmer is so dim that you can’t read the display.But it looks great, for what it’s worth.

I use this in the living/dining area of my RV. The blue light makes a great subdued nightlight and the large numbers make it easy to see from the bedroom. The light brightness is adjustable which makes it great for adjusting to meet my specific needs. Love it. Oh yeah, and my favorite color is blue so that’s even better. A great clock and a great value.

This is unbelievably bright even on the lowest dimmest setting. It completely lights up the room! I am returning it since I was looking for a clock that you can read but won't light up the room.

The numbers only stayed lite for about 3 hours. Now they just randomly flash on briefly for a few seconds about once an hour. I have tied everything! I like the size of the numbers and can see without my glasses - if they were lite up. Plugged my phone into it to charge and it connects so you think it is charging, but doesn't - super slow. Would probably take 12 hours to charge to 50%. Don't waste your money!!!

I really like this clock. It's like a sideways cellphone, with 2 additional USB ports for other devices. Also, it comes with the ac adapter and a nice long wire that doesn't use up a USB port. It has it's own power port. Nice big bright numbers that I can see even without my glasses on. Very good for the price. And it shipped with a little USB powered fan for free.
