Newer is better
**UPDATE** 6/17/18I received a newer version of this product. It is better than the original. The coil is not as stiff and will stretch easier for better length. It does have a bit of recoil in it so when you do not keep it stretched out, it will retain most of its original coil. Overall, this is a better product. This product did not meet my expectations. While it looks to be built well, there are some major drawbacks. My major complaint is the coil. The length seems to be more than adequate for my needs, but due to the nature of the coil being so rigid, I cannot extend the cable to the length I need. If I do extend the cable, there is so much tension on the cable that it pulls the connections out of their ports. It states you can get 4 feet from this cable, but in reality it's really only a foot...and a foot is not long enough for me. I would definitely give this product 5 stars if the coil part was more flexible and allowed for full extension.

Works good, it DOES pass data and power
Works good for my phone to do Android Auto in my car. Even the packing it comes in says not for data transfer but that is wrong. The manufacturer needs to remove that if they want to be 100% accurate in their product. Only reason it isn't 5 stars is that their description is wrong and I had to hunt around in the comments to verify whether it would or would not pass data.

Cord doesn't stretch very far.
Connecters are great, but the cable is too heavy to stretch very much. And if you do try to stretch it very far, the tension becomes great enough to pull out the straight USB plug. This defeats the purpose of a coiled cord. I think I can use it in my vehicle, but a short cord would work as well. This coiled cord is not so useful as I imagined.

Convenient
The cord is quite stiff. I wanted it so I could use it with a portable charger for my smartphone. However, the stiffness of the cable means that the USB-C end gets loose very quickly. I think it may work better if I use it when it's connected to my laptop.

Coiled cord is too stiff, it doesnt stretch much at all before pulling the plug out of USB
I thought this would be useful, not having a whole bunch of extra wire, but the coil of the cord is so stiff, you cannot stretch it more than like 6 inches before it just pulls the cord out of the USB socket, making it pretty much a useless 1&1/2ft cord. I can't even hold the phone to my head to talk it's so stiff. Pointless, should have just got a longer cord. I mean seriously, do the manufacturers ever even test their products out??? So dumb. I think I'm going to return it, if I can find the time....

Perfect for the car
This is perfect for in the car, where I want to shove the phone into a little niche and the angled connector allows me to do that without worrying about damaging the wire. The coil is also helpful in the car.

Spring is the most important word inn this whole thing
Extremely durable because it's partially made out of asphalt, this is about as malleable as a heavy gague metal spring....oh you wanted to put your phone in the holder on the dashboard?? Naa i think the back seat sounds better

Not as much "stretch" as I had expected.
I needed an USB C right angle cable for my new Noka 6.1, this cable fits the bill. It's a well made heavy duty cable, the only problem is it doesn't stretch as much as I think it should.
