PLOT AGAINST AMERICA: AN HBO LIMITED SERIES

Like the best of David Simon's work, this drama has a kind of authenticity about it that makes you feel as if it is somehow real. It doesn't particularly grab you in the first few episodes and builds slowly. But the characters are so well drawn and there is a great sense of time and place. The horrific nature of how anti-semitism rises in this alternate history is made all the more upsetting by the obvious parallels with modern day events. By the last few episodes it becomes very compelling. Well worth watching.

This item was in Polish! Should have been in English as ordered. It was a gift but the gift tag I asked for was not included. A dreadful delivery.

I've been waiting for 15 years for Philip Roth's 2004 novel to be made into a film. Admittedly it would have been controversial to have done so at the the time (there is one screenwriter I know whose specialty is adaptations and could have scripted it) but in the last few years that time has come.The one deviation from the novel, which I think was a mistake, was to re-write how Lindbergh became the Republican presidential candidate. He did not throw his hat into the ring from the outset. When he made a surprise visit to the Republican presidential convention on its last night, he was enthusiastically received and spontaneously acclaimed the presidential candidate. That dramatic and pivotal scene should have been included in the film.Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this production and the DVD as I'm a video collector, not a streaming service subscriber.

The six part series depicted the book accurately. The?writers took liberties with a portion of the ending as compared to story line of the book. The casting was superb.

One bad election and we might have been friends with Hitler? I hope not!

An amazingly well-done miniseries. This SHOULD be a hot seller. Fantastic program.

Did not fulfill my expectations, was disappointed.
