Ava the Elephant Talking Children's Medicine Dispenser (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

My 20 month old son recently had a kidney transplant and must now take many crucial medications. It was a very traumatic experience for both of us in the beginning, as I had to restrain him in order to get the meds in. I had seen Ava the Elephant on Shark Tank previously, and I decided to order one to see if it would help in our situation. He loved it! The only problem I had with it is that it includes a dropper which is not accurate enough to use for these meds that really must be drawn up with a syringe. But, I am able to insert my small syringes into the trunk and use it that way. It's a wonderful way to get young children to take their meds without a fight!

Saw this on shark tank several years ago and could not wait to get one and try it. My2 year old little boy would not take liquid medicine.. It was always a huge ordeal to get medicine down, always ended up with more on his shirt than in his body. In a weird sort of way couldn't wait for him to start cutting a tooth or run a fever so we could try out Ava. The day arrived and it worked like a charm:). Has made medicine time for my little guy so much more enjoyable for us both, thank you!!

The ONLY thing that helped my daughter (11 months) take her medicine! Only reason for 4 stars is that my husband accidentally put the voice box in water( didn't ask me about instructions) and it stopped working for about 20 hours, but then it started working again. Highly recommend if your child has trouble taking medicine!

I bought this as a gift for a baby shower so have not actually used it. I was able to try out the voice feature of this medicine dispenser and it is a very cute design.

I love the design of this product! It is adorable and makes cute noises. I love that the dropper is BPA free and that is why I purchased this product to begin with. However, after recieving the product I realized that it said BPA FREE dropper, and didn't specify if the elephant itself was BPA free (which also goes in babies mouth). So I contacted the company and three months later still no response. Not impressed with the customer service. So we are using the dropper without the elephant to be safe but wish the company would give its customers proper service.

I have twin girls. They both hate to take medicine. They scream and cry and it is truly a horrible experience for all involved. My husband and I saw this on shark tank a while ago and my husband urged me to buy it. I had my doubts that it would help, but decided to try it.Once I recieved it I washed it and filled the dropper with medicine. At first my girls thought it was fun because it talked when you pushed the button in the back and they would put the elephants nose in their mouth, but as soon as the medicine started to come out it was game over. They pushed it out of their mouth and didn't want anything to do with it. They didn't care that it talked or looked like an animal.And as my husband and I tried to still give them their medicine we found that the dropper kept leaking and we couldn't tell how much medicine was in the dropper because you can't see it. Plus the fact that the medicine flows back to the part that you squeeze. It made the whole thing even worse. We ended up going back to how we did it before.Total waste of money.

Although our baby isn't taking medicine from it yet, we loved it so much after seeing it on shark tank, we bought one for our unborn daughter. She'll be old enough soon now, but the concept is great and we can see how it would work once she needs it (not that we look forward to having to give medicine to our sick child..)

My niece - the fighter of all medicines -ACTUALLY STARTED TO TRUST AVA !!! Thank you so much for this product.. My niece had her first whole dose of antibiotic EVER bc of this device. We started slow- told her exactly what it was for and asked her if she wanted to try giving medicine to mom.. Eventually trust was built.. Amazing idea. Thanks
