For our first anniversary I decided to give my honey an activity we could do together that would commemorate our time together. I have an assortment of acrylic paints on hand already, and I thought painting rocks would be a fun thing to do together and we'd end up with cute reminders of each other.We painted the surface with gesso first, then our designs, and then sealed the surface with a craft top coat, and they turned out great!These rocks were perfect for this project, they are a great size with a little bit of variety in the shapes to suit different inspirations. They are definitely smooth enough for this kind of application, we mostly used the gesso so the pigments in the paints would show up better.I'll be keeping the rest around for more little projects like this, maybe everyone needs a "2020 dumpster fire" commemorative rock this year lol

Small and cute, painted rocks for kids and adults.

These rocks ROCK! Lol. I love painting these for people as gifts, I bought these rocks after seeing a lot of negative reviews about chipping, but honestly they came in perfect condition! They're varying shapes and sizes but they're smooth and fun to work with. A little on the bigger size but I like having more space. Paint markers work great on them. 10/10

Three teachers used these as a paint the rock activity this past week. The students loved the rocks, and were free to make their own designs within limits. Rocks are smooth ,nice palm size, and big enough for a word or small picture. We used acrylic paint markers to avoid super mess at the end. Recommend having the students outline their rock on a 3x5 card and plan a design first. That worked out really well with no, "I messed up, can I have another rock?" requests.Amazon sent wrong rocks the first time, but quickly sent replacement. Excellent customer service.

I bought enough rocks for 105 second graders to paint. All of them came without chips and were smooth with few bumps. Some were much larger than 3 inches & a few were slightly smaller but were included with batches of larger rocks. There were 21 rocks per bag & in one bag there were 22 rocks. I would definitely buy these again.

I expected to receive rocks that look similar to the product photos. Many of these were quite small, three had large chips, many had irregular shapes, several were thick and lumpy. The biggest problem for me was that only a few of them had flat-ish surfaces. They are smooth but the shapes were unsuitable for my purposes. Please note: 2" is the length and the width of the rock can be less, so if you want rocks that are at least 2" in width these are not what you want.

These rocks are perfect size for painting small messages or signs.

They are a great size for painting on for any craft lover.
