Heller HEL80898 Model Kit, Various,770x765mm

Brilliant kit but not for a beginner, instruction are hard to follow but that is the only fault

Delivered in a large box there are over 300 individual parts for assembly. A comprehensive instruction booklet with good illustrations and written instructions in French, English, German and Spanish plus a potted History of the galleon up to its demise. The instructions also include a guide as to the recommended colours for painting each individual part (gloss or matt Acrylics), I am currently assembling the numerous gun batteries, fiddly and much care required. I recommend TAMIYA Extra Thin Cement for cementing the parts and a good range of paint brushes including very fine ones. All rigging is included as well as billowing white plastic sails ( as an option). The detail and mouldings are very impressive. This assembly will doubtless take me many weeks but unless I make a complete Horlicks of it I expect the model to be a great reward!

I have the box and a bunch of sprues but what should be in the box? Hopefully everything should be enclosed. A first look around is impressive but time will tell. I am really looking forward to tucking into what looks like an exciting kit. For those struggling with the French instructions a fully English version is available online but you will need to google for it.

You need to be really experienced to tackle this one, complicated and the build instruction is a challenge, if you are familiar with Airfix or Revell then forget then forget your experience and think in a completely different way, there is English translation at the end of the building instruction sheets, Heller should think about improving the building instruction as it is not user friendly way so ever. But I’m enjoying it as I am in the early stages of building it.

No after sales service available. Cant post to their Facebook site so I cannot find the answer to my issue. Which is: They supply four rolls of string of different thicknesses but fail to tell you what the thicknesses are. So when they say to produce a 60cm No 16 thread I have no idea which one they are talking about. The main instruction are in French although there are a few pages of English but you will need a magnifying glass to read them.

As this is kit of many pieces it is not possible to give an accurate report on it was delivered well packaged and at the moment all l can say is beautifully moulded

an astonishingly beautiful piece of plastic moulding well worth the price .I wanted to eat it it looks so gorgeous.ignore the idiots who slag this kit, the only big drawback are the instructions ,which are muddled and inadequate [and mostly in French]

PRACHTIG !!! Maar super moeilijk heb mij daar redelijk aan mispakt. Heb mij voorgenomen om het heel rustig aan te pakken. Lang zal de bouw wel duren maar het is zeker de moeite waard. TOP!!!

De plus il est bien détaillé même mieux que celui en bois, de bonne qualité, c'est sur que l'on peut toujours les améliorer. Puis le prix est plus abordable par rapport à un voilier tout en bois,.

Un bellissimo modello snobbato dai modellisti navali.le decorazioni dello specchio di poppa inoltre sono tra le piu fedeli e collimano perfettamente con il modello esposto nel museo navale di parigi del 1800. ottimo ovviamente non è un giocattolo per bambini ma per modellisti esperti

Ich habe diesen Modellbausatz fuer ein Familienmitglied kaufen sollen und dieser hat sich sehr gefreut! Die Verpackung war ansprechend und auch das Aufbauen oder Zusammenbauen (wie man es auch korrekt nennt) hat ihm sehr viell spass gemacht. Besonders als er dann das Endergebnis (also das volle Schiff) sah, war er mit dem Kauf noch zufriedener. Allerdings ist anzumerken, meinte er, das dieses Schiff und der gesamte Modellbausatz sich mehr an Fortgeschrittene oder Kenner richtet! Also anfaenger oder jene wo einfach nur ein bisschen "basteln" wollen, sollten sich hier eher von fernhalten oder Unterstuetzung suchen. Alles in allem war es ein sehr guter und Zufriedenstellender Kauf und daher kann ich 5 Sterne geben!
