Does warm up a little but nothing to worry about
Very early days yet but so far working like a dream, more expensive than other models I looked at but seems very sturdy within it's all metal case, LED's are bright and easy to read and not to big or small, have mine wall mounted, lets hope it continues the way it started.

This is the best USB hub I have ever bought.
This hub is great, not only is it encased in a steel shell but is delivers data and power with none of the loss of power that I have seen in other USB hubs when all the slots are used, very highly recommended. I have gotten cables from Startech and they are pretty good too, not as flimsy as others and nice tight connectors and not I am not an employee or related.

Excellent USB 3.0 Hub
Its a USB 3.0 Hub. It works as expected. However there are a couple of possibly minor features that set this one apart, but which I find useful. Firstly, the indicator LEDs for each socket highlight which connections are currently active - I find that handy for knowing which USB devices have active devices plugged in or are still charging (my little Sony RX100 for example, the light goes off when charging is complete). Secondly the sockets themselves are sturdy and the USB cables are held firmly. This Hub replaces another which had fairly loose sockets and this on occasion resulted in a poor connection (and there was no indicator light to tell you!). So this hub is well made and also operates at least 6 devices concurrently at full speed (that's as many as I;ve tested at one time).

Well built but there’s problem with the power.
There certainly is a power issue with this hub - the power seems to come back out of it and if I touch the end of a cable I get a shock. Don’t try this with a DisplayLink adapter... the power issue causes the adapter to trip on and off, therefore causing the monitors to flicker. I’ve had to piggy back my old hub just to get the DisplayLink adapters to work.I don’t know if this is an isolated issue or a common one. But I have seen another reviewer mention something similar so be aware if you have a Mac.It’s well built and the mounting option is great - what attracted me to it. The leds are a bit pathetic as the ones that are illuminated, cause the others to shine if they are off.

Works great with my laptop
This hub works extremely well. I bought this so that I could plug in several cameras, HDD and serial port, and have the whole lot connected to my laptop. I love that it's very easy you can see when the devices are awake with the orange LED's. Powering from 12v works well. I don't use the power brick as I power from a 12v battery or bench supply (which also powers the laptop and other equipment, such as Telescope). So far, I've had no problems taking photos and saving them to an external HDD.I'm very happy with this hub and expect to use it for many years.

Pleasantly surprised.
Mounted nicely to the underside of my desk, much less bulky than I imagined so that's a plus. Feels very solid build quality. No issues with operation after a month of use.

Oh starry starry night
Good build quality. Purchased for use with a new astrophotography rig I’m building. Not used it in anger yet but have tested it and am very pleased with it.

and it seems like this hub was at fault
It's a well made hub, but with one serious flaw. It backfeeds power into the computer, which is very dangerous to the computer it is attached to. I already had two hard resets of my computer after attaching this hub, and it seems like this hub was at fault. It works well when the power supply is not connected to the hub, although obviously that limits the total power available to all connected devices to 900mA. Which makes it a very nice, rugged PORTABLE hub, but not very good one for desk use.

Hub Usb 3.0 excelente

Hub (ST7300U3M) functions well under various simple test conditions
First, the only issue I had was with the supplied USB-3 (A/B) data cable. It was defective, rendering USB2.0 speeds. Due to the apparent high quality of the hub itself, I will not deduct points for this. For years I've noticed that high performing devices often seem to ship with data cables of questionable quality. I replaced it and all is well.I've read many of the reviews and have some comments:1) USB-3 cables are typically shorter. The potential fast data rates can be an issue with longer, standard quality cables, as well as computer tower enclosure front panel ports. The first time I experienced this was when I connected high speed devices to the front panel USB3.0 (USB3.1 gen-1) ports of a PC computer. Unlike the rear panel, where the USB connector is soldered directly into the motherboard, the front ports are subject to a long internal cable (possibly of questionable quality) leading to a motherboard header. High speed devices that I had problems with (up front) worked flawlessly in the rear ports.2) Regarding cordless Keyboards and Mice, I plugged in a Logitech Unifying receiver to the hub, and both items work without issue.3) On the hub that I purchased, all indicator lights function as expected.4) My LG Android mobile phone will charge as well as transfer data via the hub. iPhones might be more demanding (re: current).5) The hub case is metal, not plastic.6) The unit's charger came with several AC plug adapters, certainly including one for the US.I have this hub attached to an Intel 8I7BEH NUC mini PC (i7-8559 cpu; all 5-USB ports are 3.1 gen-2). Transfer speeds are high between NUC and hub as well as between multiple hard drives and SSD's connected to the hub.Currently connected to the hub:1-Mouse/Keyboard receiver1-USB3.0 gen-2 StarTech enclosure with internal NAS 5400 rpm SATA-3 hard drive2-USB3.0 gen-1 enclosures with 7200 rpm SATA-3 hard drives1-SATA-3 SSDThe NUC ports have more of the same. Everything works very well...no complaints at all.I realize that manufacturing renders an occasional defective device, but mine works great.
