The multiple studio recording sessions Clifford Brown made during his brief career show both his prolific capacity and the high respect his fellow musicians and the recording industry had for his talents and reliability. Even Charlie Parker expressed his enthusiasm to Brownie after hearing him play. 'To me, the name of Clifford Brown will always remain synonymous with the very essence of musical and moral maturity', wrote Quincy Jones in Down Beat magazine in 1956, the week after Brown died in a car accident at the age of twenty-five. 'This name', continued Jones, 'will stand as a symbol of the ideals every young jazz musician should strive to attain. This name also represents a musician who had intelligent understanding and awareness of social, moral, and economic problems which constantly confuse the jazz musician, sometimes to the point of hopeless rebellion.'

What a shame
The music cannot be faulted (5 stars), which is more than can be said for the pressing! Buffeting at the beginning of both sides takes the pleasure away from listening, (and I have tried on 2 different decks). If it wasn't for the hassle of returning, it would go back for another copy.
