Hampton Forge Black Opera Titanium 5Pc 18/0, 0.60 LB

This matte black looking flatware is my new favorite set in the drawer. They are a well crafted satin titanium finish that is supposedly less prone to rust and has an ergonomic design that feels balanced in the hand. They came with care instructions and say that they can be placed in the dishwasher but suggested not using detergent with lemon in it to avoid corrosion. I have used them several times now and they have gone through several dishwasher cycles and still look great. At first I thought the satin gunmetal finish would tarnish easy but they do not need to be polished and the modern style with the Skandiaö brandname is stamped on each piece.

We like the way this set looks, and it still looks great after several trips through the dishwasher. We don’t really have any complaints about this set, though I noticed that the price seems to change quite a bit, so you might want to wait for this set to be on sale to pick it up. Currently it seems overpriced for just a one-person set of five utensils.

I was drawn to the unusual color, and I liked the shape of the forks in particular. I thought I'd give these a try, but I'm not impressed for several reasons. They feel cheap, and honestly I'd expect service for 4 at this price and quality. (Note this is one place setting, 5 pieces--in case you're used to buying your flatware the way I do, at the big-box store!)The finish is nice, but it shows fingerprints pretty aggressively and is hard to keep clean. The edges aren't totally smooth and there are places where you can really see color variation, like along the edges of the spoons.There isn't much weight to these and they're surprisingly thin, almost like cafeteria silverware. The knife handle is maybe 3 mm thick, and the spoons and forks are more like 1.5mm. They aren't flimsy, but really insubstantial. The edges feel a bit too precise and almost sharp, not comfortable in the mouth.i'd also note that the box is branded "Skandia, Naturally Inspired" but there's too much plastic inside. Hope the manufacturer will look for ways to reduce the plastic.Overall underwhelming product and I can't recommend it, sorry!

These are well made and look great. I was very happy with the look and feel. I have to say it was making a statement at my dinner table.

The flatware is nice. Didn't realize I was ordering just 5 pieces so for the price do not think the set is worth it. Love the color and design. Stands out and looks elegant, but rather thin and they have a cheap feel.
