This is an engaging account of a woman who confronted personal and systemic professional obstacles to achieve academic success at the highest level at an elite institution. Professor Strober writes in a self-revelatory style that connects with her readers at both intellectual and emotional levels. I recommend this book without reservations to both men and women, but especially to women contemplating or already crafting careers in academia.

This is an important book for all working women. It gives pertinent information told in the true story of the author’s life and journey to working equality at home while researching the very topic of genderequality in her academic life.

Myra Strober,s account of her life as a labor economist, academic, daughter, sister, partner, mother and grandmother is somehow just as it should be. Economic research and feminist theory and practice are woven comfortably into this story of an rich and fully satisfying life. I sat down and read it cover to cover all through one night. I'm glad I did.

Excellent book! It was a great book to read on the airplane. I think Myra Strober was very honest.
