Lacis Third Hand W/Clamp

I only received this item today and it's already proved its worth.I am currently sewing rolled hems on a few pieces of silk and my hands were getting very crampy and sore trying to roll the hem, then hold it taught enough to sew. I think I've probably doubled my sewing speed now I have this clever little device. It's fab!I was concerned that I wouldn't have anything to clamp it to, especially when sewing in bed this evening, but that's not been a problem. As I'm working with silk the weight of the device and clamp are enough to keep a nice even tension on the hem; and if it wasn't enough it would easily clamp onto a book or something similar, which would provide more than enough weight to keep the edge of my fabric nice and tight.I am so glad I bought it! It's easy to use, it's really effective, and it didn't cost very much at all. All in all, a great big win!

How did I not know that this tool was availble until a couple of weeks ago? I saw it in a sewing group on Facebook and I have used it several times already. It is brilliant for holding one end of a seam that needs a ripper and makes the job so much easier. Also clamps the other end of elastic when threading it through a channel. And it is an attractive design too.

Super handy, although the thread system is a bit wobbly to use, it works ok and my hand stitches turn out more even, which was unexpected.

I bought this for one project but have found it useful for other things.

I used this when sewing with very fine silk. used it to hold the fabric tight while I trimmed the seam allowance. Well made and does the job well.

Haven't used it yet, but it looks really useful

Very useful when working with delicate fabrics such as silk.
