From the same people as Cowboy Beebop and is a similar style of talented misfits but this time in Japan Edo period. Funny and stylish.

So Just Shut Up And Watch
And with that statement the mood is set for Watanabes' latest and possibly greatest anime, and this coming from a looong time BeBop fan!But the difference being where BeBop had a kind of Bluesy/Jazz feel to it this flips it around and injects it with a n irreverent hiphop/jazz funk! The story revolves around three fairly mismatched characters, Mugen the vagrant, vulgar and lacking any civility whatsoever but yet is a master with his blade, Jinn (I won't spoil some of his backstory here) a quiet, well mannered Ronin who is highly trained in the use of his beloved Katana and of course Fuu, the rather dim but sweet, gentle natured and eternally hungry waitress who, by helping these two wanderers escape certain death ,brings them together to aid in her search for "The Samurai who smells of sunflowers". The story itself, though based in Ancient Japan is steeped with modern references and humour. The music,as in Cowboy BeBop is superb, sometimes sublime, ambient melodies and at others jazzy, funky hip hop,(The episode BeatBox Bandit is a MUST see, though unfortunately not on this set) I'm trying to keep this short, but I love this series sooo much it's kind of hard... Basically....you like/love anime?buy it you don't like anime? buy it/try it you WILL like it!I've shown this to friends who had absolutely no interest in the genre at all in fact one had a complete loathing of it, but this one show completely changed his attitude! It's hilarious, sometimes irreverent, moving with wonderful soundtracks. (worth buying the cds aswell)The animation and artwork are extraordinary, an excellent example is the fight scene between Jinn and Mugen when they first meet in 'Tempestuous Temperament', the actions are so fluid and lifelike they will leave your jaw hanging....seriously,oh and quite violent too, Shinichiro Watanabe has surpassed himself here....funny,somewhat violent, funky, gorgeous, sumptious ear and eye candy, see it hear it love it. Bebop is dead......long live Samurai Champloo(well for 25 episodes at least)
