Just what I wanted.

Present for our daughter who crochets. Uses it everytime she has to buy new yarn! No issues:)

I purchased this winder to help me quickly and efficiently wind my skeins of yarn for crafts and prep before I made projects. The amount of time I spent trying to dial this in, unwinding, winding, unwinding, winding, adjusting tension, winding, unwinding, endlessly took so long I could’ve had done this by hand quicker. The center cone would constantly fall off the winder, stop turning, slow down, turn off, all while in use! The whole thing was just a pile of junk. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. Simply throwing it in the garbage was not a testament to how truly awful this product is. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

It works, but there are a few problems. first of all the variable speed is not very variable and even at the highest speed it slows down after a few moments. but the biggest problem is after only three days of using it. A group permanent groove has appeared on the hook. The yarn goes through before it gets to the winder. It is being caused by the friction of the yarn as it is winding, and I expect another few balls of my silk yarn, and it will have cut completely through the plastic hook.

I wish I bought this sooner. It makes winding yarn really easy. It is easy to use. It does big balls. I like that it is automatic. I have had some manual winding ones. This one lets me do quite a few balls at a time.

There was only one screw to place to assemble. The unit tightens to a tabletop and holds snuggly. You can adjust the speed and it stops automatically if there is a problem. It also stops automatically to prevent over-heating. Saves so much time and trouble Highly recommend.
