I love this Alexa thingy! Super useful

Needed a radio that could show me the time, be used as a speaker and do other things as well. Ta-da!

The product's value proposition appears questionable, given the reported issues. Following delivery, the display malfunctioned. While a prompt replacement was facilitated, the device's performance remains suboptimal. The device exhibits slow processing speeds. The screen brightness diminishes unexpectedly. The AI functionalities are limited. The Amazon Music subscription is frequently promoted, even for Prime members. Voice commands to control IOT devices are acknowledged but not executed. Customizing the background image results in error messages. The touch interface responsiveness is slow.

Compared to the older version, the 2nd Generation, there are some advantages. The whole shape of the device is different from the speaker; it became much better, and clearly anyone who had the older version will feel the difference immediately. The quality got enhanced, and the speaker itself became bigger with better bass. The button shape has changed; they are bigger and much nicer than the older version, and the screen has a huge difference. It’s much thinner now with better quality, and it’s more responsive when using it. It felt like a more glassy screen than the old version, which felt like a plasticky screen. The power adapter also changed; it now uses a 22-watt power adapter rather than a 15-watt one compared to the old version. It has some extra background pictures as well, which I think Amazon could easily make them available to the older generation. And to be honest, this is all I felt had changed. Maybe it’s a bit better at responding compared to the 2nd generation, but overall, I don’t see or feel any huge differences, especially in the software; it’s the same and still sometimes becomes laggy and slow. Overall, if you have the 2nd generation and you are a normal user that just wants to give commands, I don’t think it’s worth upgrading, but if you listen to music very often and you want the best sound quality, then yes, go ahead and grab it during sales, but rather than that, in my opinion, it's not worth upgrading from the 2nd generation to it, but if you didn’t own an Echo Show 5 before, then yes, get it; it’s a good device.

I had the 2nd generation for a couple of years and it was decent. I listen to a lot of music so the audio always sounded too low and a bit muffled on the 2nd gen but when I got the 3rd gen I can hear the instruments and voices so clearly now. The graphics look a lot more crisp on the 3rd gen as well so I don’t regret the upgrade at all. 3rd gen doesn’t have the Netflix app like the 2nd gen but I always watch on the TV anyway.

The device has a compact design and integrates well with Alexa for basic voice commands. Setup was straightforward, and the build quality feels solid for its size. It works fine for simple smart home control, checking the weather, or quick information requests. However, the screen quality was disappointing—low resolution and poor clarity made it unpleasant to watch videos or view content. The sound quality was also underwhelming, lacking depth and clarity. On top of that, the device had a slow response time, which made interactions frustrating. Watching anything on the screen was nearly impossible due to both the display quality and performance issues. For my personal usage, where I wanted to watch content, make video calls, and use the screen as a central display, this device simply didn’t meet expectations. I returned it and replaced it with the Echo Show 8, which offers much better screen and sound performance. While it might work for someone who only needs basic Alexa functions, it’s not a good choice for media or screen-heavy use.

Fantastic Sound

the latest Echo Show 5 ( 3rd gen) no longer supports Netflix. Unfortunately it isn't clearly mentioned unless you start digging. Might not be an issue for many but should be pointed out. I would have purchased the Echo Dot at less than half the price if I had known. The screen lags opening links to the touch commands or scrolls too fast.

جميل، انا شاريه واستعمله كرادو في البيت، بس يشغل اذاعة القران وتمام اموره، عيبه الوحيد لازم يكون مشبوك في الكهرب كل الوقت ولا بيطفى، كنت احسبه شحن

من اسوء الاصدارات الي جربتها تعليق وواجه ثقيلة غير ضعف دعم الواجهة العربية ونقص الميزات

اولًا اذا جيتوا تختارون اي اصدار شيكو على احتياجاتكم لأن الاسعار جدًا تختلف ومن الغباء تشترون الشيء لمجرد انها هبه لأن في الاخير بتجون تكتبون تعليقات تكرهنا في ام الشغله عشانكم ما استفدتوا منه شيء وخسرتوا على الفاضي ١- الحجم ..الحجم صغير كنت بأختار echo 8 لكن المساحه عندي محدوده فما فيه مجال ٢- الاستجابه ما تسمع من اول مره في احيان كثير لكن في نفس الوقت اذا اشتغل منبه وانا في الصاله وهي في غرفة النوم اناديها واطلب منها توقفه تستجيب يعني مدري كيف اقيمها من ذا الناحيه ٣- الكاميرا هذي النقطه الفاصله الي خلتني اختار اصدار الshow بدل العادي كنت احتاج كاميرا عشان العاملات وقت التنظيف اكون ماني متواجده في البيت وهذا الشيء يستاهل نجمه لأنها وفرت علي شراء جهازين منفصلين ٤- يمدي تستخدمونها كسماعات المكبر الصوتي جدًا عالي وواضح لدرجة اني حطيت روتين النوم الي هو اغلاق اللمبات + تشغيل القرآن وحطيت مستوى الصوت منخفض لأني خصصته على وقت معين اول ما يدخل الوقت تعطي اشاره بدخول وقت النوم وهذا يمكن يخوف الي موجودين بسبب التفاعل المفاجئ ٥- التعليق… من يوم شريتها قدلي نص شهر تقريبًا علقت معي اربع مرات او ثلاث البعض يشوف الموضوع مستفز بس ما ضرني مره لأن استخدامي لها محدود يعني مثلًا من ناحية الشاشه الشاشه بطيئه ٦- الأشياء الي استخدمها فيها ….. اليكسا قائمه على فكرة الملحقات عندك قدرة على شراء الملحقات راح تستفيد تتركونها كجهاز عادي بدون ولا شيء الجوال اصرف لكم شريت لمبات الكترونيه من جرير + شريت افياش من امازون + مفاتيح اضاءة للمبات الي مابغيت اغير نوعها الفتره الحاليه + اذا بغيتوا مقبض الكتروني للباب + يمدي تشترون كاميرات اذا مثلًا تكون كاميرات خارجيه وتبغون تشبكونها عليها بيصير يمدي تعطونها امر عرض للكاميرا الفلانيه وتفتح الصوره يمدي تشغلون الاخبار -التنبيهات يميدي تستخدمونها ك مساعد للجوال بعد ما تشبكونه بالتطبيق حقها بمعنى هي موجوده في مكان معين وتبغونها تحط لستة طلبات البيت تطلع لكم في الجوال قولولها اذا الجوال ضايع وتبغونها تتصل عليه اذا تبغون تتواصلون مع اهلكم التطبيق يكون موجود عندهم وتطلبون منها الاتصال بتتصل اذا احد معارفكم عنده نفس الجهاز بإصدار مختلف من الممكن تكلمه عن طريقها صوره وصوت وفيه مميزات جدًا جباره ثانيه يمدي تتعرفون عليها عن طريق مقاطع اليوتيوب اعتذر عن الاطاله وشكرًا
