Wonderful and light-hearted take on faux collections
Just fun -- nothing else. He is obviously a talented artist but his sense of the bizarre sets him apart.

Most Readable Art Book Ever!
I bought this book and marveled at the awesome artworks presented and the overall good design. Then luckily read one random page and it was so well written, so understated, so informative and simple that it left me begging for more. This is the exact opposite of the text in most art books that are basically over-written, uninteresting, and mostly unreadable. Of course I read another page and the same phenomenon occurred. Ultimately read the whole book with the introduction last, concluding that this art book was probably the most entertaining, educational and enjoyable that I have ever read. Makes me realize what a genius Vallance is and how exceptional the Grand Central Press is to enable Vallance to completely write his own book. Vallance covers everything an art scholar would drone on about but he does it in the most simple terms. He seems to actually write at will in between the lines! I'll stop here and just urge you to devour this book as it reads like no other.

Not what i thought
This IS a interesting book but it's tile is a bit misleading - it is not about Holy Relics and Reliquires - it is about outsider/folk art based upon such. It is of interest, but more than a bit of a letdown if you are hoping to study the art/craftsmanship of "true" Reliquires.
