Very solid and well made
I have a cheap plastic dowel jig that was such a waste of moneySo when I was doing a job that really needed to be done well I started looking for a new oneThis one sounded good as,does everything so when it arrived ,WOW I thought they must have sent some super upgrade because this is outstandingRight out of the box I put together my project and it was perfect. I have never had every single pin fit perfectly and everything line up like this !!This is a very rugged and tight tool. I believe anyone who gets one of these will be a very happy woodworker after they use it.

A little tricky to align each hole exactly in the same place using the mark on the fixture.

Allusion of quality but unusable.
Without guide lines that are centered properly you can’t match the dowels holes in each board. The guide lines are about 1mm to 1/16 off centered for all the pins. Got burned again on another “accurate” or “precision” tool that was anything but accurate and/or precision. Past the return period so I will have to buy another from a name that can be trusted. You get what you pay for. If the tool doesn’t work it’s the most expensive tool made.Both axis are not centered. Uggg. So you can’t use even if you mark your project on opposite sides and flip the other board around to compensate for the non -centered guide likes.The only way this tool can be used is if you are only adding one dowel.This tool makes a nice paper weight.

The lines are accurate on mine
I dont know if there is a lot of variation from one to another because someone mentioned that the lines on his werent lined up with the centers of the holes. Mine were aligned but I wish they had used a different marking material. The lines are diffixult to see- especially after the unit gets dustt

Accurate and Easy
Building a workbench that is made up of 24 boards, 1-1/4” wide x 3-1/4” thick x 72” long. I glued up 3 sections, 8 boards ea. using cauls and planed them to uniform thickness. But to glue all three together i used this dowel jig. Eight dowels per section, 8” apart. Worked like a charm. Everything lined up perfectly. Very impressed. Great jig for the money.

easy to use
I liked it, better than many worth the extra money if for no other reason the extended flanges to keep it aligned.
