Bug Solutions Rola Chem TB-1-24 Scumbug Oil Absorbing Sponge for Swimming Pools

We got one of these with our hot tub purchase two years ago. It works very well!! Time to replace it and was happy to find the identical item on Amazon

I’ve had a Scumbug in my 250 gal inflatable Coleman Spa and the water is clearer than ever before and the Bug is still pristine white.I’d been getting the knockoff brand before because the price was so much less than Scumbugs. And they seemed to work because they’d turn orange and sink in about a week, so I felt like they were doing something. Turns out they were just turning colors after a bit and sinking.The texture is very different from the knockoffs and I have had zero deterioration of the Bug, as some have noted in reviews.I’m sorry I doubted these before. I think they will be well worth the investment.

Ok first off im using these in a pool not hot tube. And they are AMAZING! Kids getting in and out and sunscreen being reapplied over and over throughout the day. The pool had a film amd was cloudy. These are great. They definitely do thier job. Here is my reason for 4 stars though. They could use a more attractive shape. They also get very yucky looking quickly to go with the shape. Which thats fine if they washed out like it says. I do not find these reusable. I can reuse it for about a week to 2 weeks depending how much the pool is used. And thats squeezing ans washing it out everyday. So using in a pool they dont last long. But I have not found anything that beats these so I do keep on buying them

This brand and type does not disintegrate. They may be a bit more costly, but they hold up well, absorb oils. I give them a squeeze outside the hot tub to eliminate some of the oils and rinse them out.

There are a couple brands out there and these are just better. One lasts about the whole season, this obviously depends on how much you use your hot tub and if you go in your hot tub as a sweaty beast.You cant clean them so just toss it, also dont squish it and play with it, it will float the whole season.

I tried using these but not sure if they actually work. No discoloration or apparent oils on the scumbugs. We'll see how it goes, I don't think it hurts to use anyways.

A simple way to mitigate foaming and cloudy water due to build up of oils. While you can rinse these out for a few times once they get loaded it is best to just replace them. Much better alternative using more chemicals in a small place.

So glad I discovered these. The bottom of my pool was slippy-slidy and it was pretty gross to think about why. Added one of these and the next time the pool was back to a normal grip at the bottom!
