Washable Puppy Pads, Resuable Dog Training Pee Pad 1ea-23"x35"

I bought this to use under disposable pads for my very geriatric cat. She just turned twenty one years old and was having a hard time getting off my bed to use her litter box. After a couple of unfortunate accidents I came up with the idea of using disposable puppy pads but I wanted something underneath just in case she missed or it leaked and this has worked out very well. While she doesn't pee directly on this she has drip on it as well as gotten sick on it a couple of times. At first I thought it was great but I've washed it about five or six times since and the vinyl backing must have washed away because it is no longer leak proof. I don't know how long these are supposed to last or trough how many washes, and since I only use this as a backup for the disposable pee pads I've only had to wash a half dozen times in the months since I bought it but if you wre using this as your main pad and washing it every day then you'd only get a weeks worth of use out of it which makes the disposable pads more economical. The disposable are also much cleaner since they absorb they pee, and therefore the odor, and lock it it in which the reusable pads don't do. I was using this pad as a backup, so it was just a small amount of leakage, but I could tell immediately when it had been used since I could smell the urine from just a small amount of leakage from the disposable pads, so if she was peeing on them directly it would have been a very unpleasant smell to come home to. I am going to try another brand to see if it works better because while it was working the system was great. When she started peeing on my bed because she wasn't able to get off as easily some people told me I should put her to sleep, but she's been my best friend for over twenty-one years, and I've always been able to allow my animals to live out their lives and die in peace at home, so I couldn't bear the thought of euthanizing her. This has worked well while it lasted so I'll try to find a more durable pad.

So far these are the best potty pads I have found, and I’ve tried a lot. These pads are thicker than most, very absorbent and they wash and dry beautifully. I first bought these when my little Shih Tzu was a baby. Now after three years I am replacing the first set. I’d say that’s a pretty good value.

I ordered this and another set of another brand and this quality was superb. I have an elderly cat with hyperthyroidism and she has accidents with some kinds of food and I keep these on the floor on the way to the litter box and these are wonderful. I just wipe the diarrhea off (I use the bottom as the top for her. This is double the thickness as the other although the other works good too. Highly recommend this.
