The Magic Mirror of M.C. Escher

Artwork could be larger
The book is fairly good, however most images are monochrome, with few colour illustrations. Also, perhaps just 1-in-30 illustrations are full page, the majority are smaller which is a shame, not as much detail is therefore visible as desired. As a result, the book is more 'technical' rather than a book to spend time admiring and examining each illustration/work in detail. It's still a good book, but I'm just setting expectations. I have attached photos of a couple of typical pages.

A comprehensive look at his life and works
I am well pleased. The book contains many of his great works, plus some preliminary sketches.

Detailed look at how Escher worked
Very full discussion about Escher's work would have liked more full colour plates
