Nice for the price
Seems to be a quality kit that works well

Fragile

Great flash system, especially for macro photography but also for regular flash use
I am used to using a ring flash for macro photography, but some lenses don't work well with ring flash, and it sometimes doesn't give me the control I want. So, I wanted to try this Meike Speedlight Macro Twin Lite Flash (whew!) on my Nikon Z7 and D850 DSLRs for some staged macro shots I was making. The package comes in a cardboard box containing an internal rigid black plastic case with a nice texture (so it's not slippy). Inside are two flash guns plus a controller, along with adapters for six common lens filter rings, and some extras such as flash diffusers. It's a neat package, and I like the storage case a lot since it bundles everything into a convenient, portable case instead of forcing me to carry it all in various pockets and segments of a camera bag.Using the Meike system is remarkably simple: place the controller on your hotshoe, use the right filter size to support the flash mounts, aim, and click. There's no wires: it's wireless (which also allows remote triggering), and with the cameras I tested with I could easily short with front and rear curtain synch. The system can be controlled by the Nikon menu system without issue. I had the entire system set up and operational, mounted on a tripod shooting into a light box, in less than ten minutes, and the system performed flawlessly.I started experimenting with moving the flash heads to different angles, as well as using the diffusors, within the first half hour. You can attach one or two flashes to the lens ring, and the system can control up to eight flashes spread around the target (although I only had the included two to work with). To compare, I moved the Meike system off and put my older ring flash system in place, and was immediately wishing I hadn't: the ring flash simply wasn't as flexible as I would have wanted after using this Meike system.OK, so you get the idea I like this macro flash setup (although it's not just for macro). This may well be my favorite accessory for my Nikon Z7 of the past year, and I've bought a lot of gadgets and (sorry!) toys. At the price, it's not cheap like some ring flashes, but I doubt I will ever use a ring flash again!

Didn't work out of the box
Flashes do not sync in TTL, neither do they pick up master flash in slave mode. They blink for about 10 seconds then shut off. Tried to update via firmware, but no luck.
