I got this after smashing the cfl light in my living room lamp. I like bright lights, but unfortunately, birghter bulbs also means bigger bulbs, and my old CFL bulb was bigger than the lamp shade/ hood/casing.By some freak accident, I lifted the lamp a tad too high and smashed the CFL on the ceiling.So... The casing on the LED is plastic instead of glass, which ended up being the primary reason for this purchase.I’ve read that LED bulbs wont give 360 degrees of illumination, but at this brightness, this LED seems to perform just as well as the cfl, if not better. It also uses less electricity which is a nice bonus!

I just received what was supposed to be a 60 watt version of this bulb. After installing I put a power meter on it and the bulb I received is only pulling 30 Watts which is just half what I was supposed to be get. Since it’s 25 feet up on the back of the garage I decided it’s good enough for now but not very happy that I only got half of what I paid for. Seller made things right very quickly and to both our satisfaction so for that reason I say 5 stars. Amazon needs more sellers like this one.

Yes, it's bright, very bright. However, it is NOT an instant-on bulb. Although I do like is and cheaper price, the 3-5 waiting time can be annoying sometimes. I also purchased one from SkyGenius, but it's $30 more expensive for a 54W.

I'm waiting for my second light bulb. The first on I ordered is excellent, so I ordered another one. The one I am using is for a back porch light...plenty of light. For about $12-$13 bucks and about a 2 week wait to get it, this is well worth it. I will probably order ANOTHER back up light bulb.

Not as bright as another 40 watt but a good price

Replaced a 400 watt metal hid with this light and it's working great. Hard to tell if it's as bright but it's close enough. Most importantly for me was only using 60 watts instead of that expensive, hot and heavy ballast.

I ordered four of these lights and one by one they began flickering when turned on. I contacted Prolight and let them know what was occurring and they did say that they would send a replacement. These bulbs were great when they were working but 3 of the 4 began flickering within the first 2 weeks. I opted to request a refund however, to send the bulbs back I had to pay to ship the defective bulbs back. So, while I did receive a refund, the cost of having to return these bulbs was offensive.

I really like the corn lights but this on did not product the light I expected compared to other I have bought. also makes lots of electrical on the line for radios.
