Hope the Hip Hippo: a story about Hip Dysplasia in Children Paperback – 11 Oct. 2012

Bought this book after being recommended it by the Steps Charity. My almost three year old just had surgery for hip dysplasia and we started reading it to her about two weeks beforehand. She enjoys it very much and we found it a very thorough explanation for every step of the process, from pre-diagnosis to hospital and beyond. It may be too wordy/lengthy for a very small child, but it is perfect for a two and a half year old upwards.

Can not recommend this book enough!!! I have bought 2 copies! Have told many people about this book!!! This book is a MUST for all parents and help prepare child for hip surgery. Take that DDH- we re helping to fight back!!!!

Brilliant, simple way to explain to a child about hip surgery. Well thought out and very helpful when preparing a young child for a hip operation.

Great book for children and their families to help them understand the journey of a child with hip dysplasia. Bought this book for my granddaughter lovely illustrated book and children really enjoy it whether they have DDH or not.
