Delighted with this I’ve always wanted a lettering book but couldn’t believe the quality and value for money

Good reference book for tattoo artists
This is a great reference book for Old English alphabets, recommended for tattoo artists looking for design inspiration.

Marginally Useful
For Typographers: the file download is a collection of JPEG files - not font files. Which means these are nearly useless for typography. As these are not photographs, they should at least be raster files of some sort, not rasterized lossy JPEGs.Disappointing.For Calligraphers: the contents of the book looks like a type specimen book; no ductus is given, and the typefaces do not lend themselves easily to pen handwriting.DisappointingFor Everyone: Many of the typefaces are nearly identical, meaning the actual number of distinct alphabets is significantly less than the 126 advertised. Also, that cool script used on the cover for the title of the book? Not included.Disappointing.I've found that the book can be used as a visual inspiration for my calligraphy. But the same thing could be accomplished with an internet search. (if you search for Dieter Steffman, you will find font files(!) for most of the alphabets in this book)

Not really a guide… just printed
No instructions on how to. Just photos for reference. Not really a “guide”
