Scarlet DarknessVictorian Maxi Skirt for Women Renaissance Long Double-Layer Ruffle Skirt

I am in love with the quality of this skirt. I got the 2X but I am a size 3X (22-24) and it fits perfectly, in fact it is very stretchy and could fit at least a 50 inch waist or a 4X. It is very long to my ankles (I am 5' 7") and I wore it very high waisted with a petticoat. It has small buttons to fasten the bustle in the back at the waist. The bustle goes in the back (I see lots of people wearing it backwards). If you unfasten the bustle, the skirt is all the same and even all the way around.

I love this skirt! The material is soft and flowy. It’s comfortable. I am 5’6” and 150 lbs with a 33” waist. Based on the size chart, I ordered an XL. The skirt fit but it was loose. I think if I lost 5 pounds the skirt would fall off my hips. The skirt is very long. In bare feet, it hit the floor. The waistband is very stretchy so I decided to order a size M for the shorter length. It fits great! The skirt will still fit if I either gain weight or lose weight. I dont feel like i will trip over it when walking.About the bustle- I see people have said it’s made backwards. No, it is not. Look at the photo with the model- It’s made to be worn with the bustle in the back, like a bride or the Victorian- Era Style. You can turn the skirt so the bustle is in the front or on the side but the “stretchy” elastic will be in the front and you will lose easy access to the pockets. The bustle can be lowered, too, so it can worn as a simple layered skirt. This skirt is worth the money.I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because of the bustle. It would be amazing if they added buttons and loops to the front sides so you can wear the bustle that way without losing access to the pockets.

Just to start, this skirt is super stretchy and comfortable, which is important. Especially if you’re going for a costume!Second, we had a contest at work for best costume and best cubicle. Thanks to this skirt (and a lot of hard work constructing a pirate ship around my desk), I won! The skirt paid for itself in the contest! Highly recommend!

Really love this skirt, however I have two complaints. The pick up on the outer layer is not on the side front as pictured, it is at center back. So if you wear it like the photo the pockets do not hit in the right spot. Also, the size chart was kind of inaccurate. I got the XXL and was worried it wouldnt fit, but let me tell you it had room to spare. Probably could have sized down.

This skirt is a really beautiful skirt! Although the fabric is not very time period, it is very close to a real 1800’s skirt. The ruffle part on the back is actually detachable. There are two buttons to hook it up there, or you can just wear it down, which gives it more of a simple look. There is a white underskirt, but it is rather see through, which makes me nervous when I have the ruffle part up. Other than the fabric not being the best quality, I don’t really have much to complain about this skirt.
