Great product, but had to return second and third ...
Great product, but had to return second and third time I ordered as the chips had melted into one large blob during shipping.

but a good substitute for dark chocolate
As I prefer the sweetened for baking, these are hard to find, so tried them in my cookies. As long as you add your sweetener, they are okay. You do taste a slight bitterness when biting into them, but a good substitute for dark chocolate.

Surprisingly good.
I'm not that familiar with carob but wanted to give these a try and I'm glad I did. Lovely, interesting flavor. Not chocolate but I wasn't trying to fool anyone. I wish I could find these in stores, because now Amazon has implemented a fee for ordering their prime pantry stuff and honestly I'm not paying more fees on top of prime to be able to buy more stuff. At some point they should pay us for buying stuff.

Not chocolate chips but pretty darn good!
This is my first taste of carob chips. Okay they’re not chocolate chips. Don’t expect them to be. However, since I’m on an alkaline program due to esophagus problems and since I’m not allowed chocolate or caffeine, these tasted pretty darn good. So far I’ve mixed them with various nuts and raisins for a healthy snack. I plan to bake gluten free cookies with them. As far as delivery, they came on time and in good condition. I’ve read some reviews about them being melted in one big lump. I can understand this happening. My order was placed in my mail box on a hot day in Florida. Luckily I was home or they may have melted. I thought they were expensive but it’s turning out that I usually only add about a rounded tablespoon per serving. They’re actually lasting pretty long. I still have half a bag left. I plan to reorder.

Just remember they're carob, not chocolate, and it's fine!
I'm diabetic and use these in low to medium carb baking. I used these in an almond meal based cookie sweetened with erythritol sugar alcohol, and their taste and texture was good, and the cookies were very healthy and tasty for a low carb diabetic cookie. But these are not chocolate, and you'll be happier if you think of them as carob, which is really a bit like chocolate, but so much of chocolate is subtle and texture, and these are best appreciated for what they are.An additional recommendation is to use more real vanilla when baking with these, it really seems to improve the end product! I also found that they were better in a carob chip peanut butter cookie than the traditional "Toll House" style sugar cookie with chips. It adds to the richness.More fat for those counting calories, but for the keto/low carb/diabetic crowd, nut butter cookies (made with butter that is no-added-sugar) is a great way to think you're getting a bit additional protein with your sweet.Moderation in all things, including...

Not great for baking - slightly bitter
These are ok right out of the package, but as far as baking goes I used them to make cookies and after being baked for 8 minutes in a 350' oven they crystallized and were not gooey but hard and crunchy. Not the best for baking.I bought mine at the healthfood store.

Carob Chips Pumpkin Bread
These are yummy AND affordable carob chips I added to pumpkin bread mix for a Thanksgiving treat for the doggies (and me) and even the dog who doesn't like sweets wanted more. They baked 55 min. at 375° and turned out great.
