Writing Ticks All the Boxes
I enjoyed this film. It was well written and directed except that it slowed down a little coming into the third act. If some of that had been placed earlier in the film, I think it would have worked a bit better,The acting was good and the dancing, all the dancing was sublime.

Make it Happen
A brilliant and vibrant film full of fast dance and a few home truths, the moral of this tale is that sometimes you have to do what you need to,success is down to you and your hard work and dedication is what gets you there, the film tells you how a young girl has a dream and she goes off to obtain the dream that she has had since she was a young girl, there are many pit falls along the way and there are things that happen and get in the way but sometimes you have to push past adversity and this is what happened. This is a great film and has plenty of dance mixed in,sometimes you shed a tear at the sadness but well worth the watch!

To bad they didn't make a quality blu-ray happen
The films okay - but the Blu-ray from Optimum Entertainment (stretching credibility with that title) is a bare bones affair - no subtitles or extraswhatsoever. The image quality is mediocre at best for a film that's only eight years old. By the framing of the shots and the softness of much of the imagery, especially exteriors and longshots, along with the missing portions of peoples faces in the medium and some close-up shots; in one the lead actress turns away listening to someone off screen, and half her nose disappears out of the frame an yet her head only fills a third of the screen - I get the feeling this may have been a wide screen film that's been blown up for the home screen format - only a few intense close-ups and well lit scenes actually give the impression of what could have been a quality Blu-ray film. So just 3 stars from me but can't recommend the Blu-ray edition.

Winstead makes this film quite enjoyable
This sort of film isn't my usual cup of tea ... I bought the Blu-ray because Mary Winstead is in it.It's a simple story of a young woman struggling to get ahead in life. She wants to become a professional dancer.Ordinarily, I don't watch dance movies. And, in some respects, I found the film to be rather mundane. But as I find Winstead to be a good actress, as well as looking extremely sexy, my view of this film is more positive. She certainly elevates the movie, taking it to a higher level.I'm sure there are many viewers who find this film to be good entertainment.

Lacking in character depth and storyline
As a huge fan of all romantic comedies, and dance films- so I had high hopes for Make It Happen- especially as it was by the same director as Save the Last Dance. However I was hugely disapointed as the film felt like it was missing something. The characters felt empty- especially the main character, who didn't feel easy to relate to. The dialogue moved along slowly, feeling disjointed while moving along to a very predictable storyline. To me it seemed like a dead version of Coyote Ugly, without feeling any emotion characters. Although I am very negative the film is easy to watch and was still enjoyable, just don't expect anything on the same level as save the last dance.

What more can i expect this is a great movie has it all in it. Romance, family brought together, rivalry and of course success. Just like real life if you fall you should never stay down or give up
