Our glass-covered ceiling light fixture in our bathroom only had one bulb. We run the LED bulbs now, so I figured I could add another bulb to the fixture and it would be safe to power. I attached the new socket with a metal L bracket I made, and connected the wires to the other socket with screw-on wire connectors. It really lit up the other half of the bathroom nicely. They’re built well and should work as a replacement or add-on in most situations. You might need to find a way to mount them depending on your situation. They do come with the little threaded tube and a nut that attaches to the back, so I think that’s good for table lamps and stuff like that. Don’t add a additional socket if you’re using incandescent bulbs, you might blow the breaker or fuse in an older home or a place where the wiring shares a lot of power sockets or light bulbs on that breaker. The only reason we were able to run an additional socket in our fixture is we use all LED bulbs now, which use much less power than the incandescent bulbs.

I bought two but only needed one, it would’ve been nice if the wires were longer because then you could cut them to any size you want later if needed. I had to add wire to make them work for my project.
