Lovely book,superb pictures and illustrations .. in excellent condition and a great service.

I knew this book was about to be published from the Instagram feeds from Skye. My mouth was watering already in anticipation of the possibility of wondrous Italian Venetian speciality dishes. This book was more than I had expected. A lot of care has gone into making this book and is one of the best on Italian venetian cuisine. The photographs are a visual delight with wonderful images of Venice, the delicious recipes and more.. The texture of the paper is sensuous and the inside front and back cover has an example of marbling paper (an ancient venetian bookmaking technique).I just adore Venice and have been going yearly to get my fix of Culture, Art and Venetian food.My favourite lunch is cicheti and a glass of local wine. There is a section on Lo Spritz which engulfs all my favourite dishes. My aim is to make all the dishes in the book. I have already started and can tell you that Skye has an amazing way of instructing you how to make the recipe. It is as though she is there explaining the recipe and guiding you through the stages. All the quantities are perfect, there is no way you can go wrong if you follow her recipe. Thank you Skye for such an amazing book. Your greatest fan! Dominique x

This is a fabulous book. Totally gorgeous. If you love Venice and cooking delicious food from amazing places, buy this book. Skye took the photos herself and her food, table settings and views of Venice are beautiful. This cookbook can be dipped Into everyday for great food and can just as easily grace a coffee table as a stunning book to own and leaf through whilst dreaming about living in Venice. Buy it. Her second book “A Table for Friends” is just as lovely. Don’t choose one or the other - get both! Stunning.

Love this book - beautifully written and illustrated - having been to Venice on many occasions I love looking to see if places/areas I have visited have featured. Just reading through brings back many happy memories and tastes of a beautiful city with stunning restaurants, bars and cafes - happy times

Love this book, I really like the style of Skye McAlpine's cooking, her recipes work and I'd tried a couple I found online and have found myself making them again and again so I wanted to expand my Italian cookery skills with more Venetian recipes. The book has more than this it really gives you a feel for all the flavours of Venice including the visual ones. I would have liked even more photographs but the ones in it are stunning and very appetising!

I will probably never get past the first chapter of this book. That's not because there's anything wrong with it (although fair to say most of the recipes in the following chapters are not my cup of tea). However, I want to make EVERYTHING in the Sweet Breakfast Recipe chapter - so many wonderful things. For me the book is worth the price for this chapter alone.

Bought this for a friend. I've been to Venice was less than impressed by it, less so by the food which was a huge disappointment, but this is well written with some good anecdotes and a few interesting recipes.

Wonderful and so much more than a cook book. Stunning food and Venietian photography with the kind of narrative about Venice that only a native (with a talent for descriptive writing) could do. Makes my heart ache for the place...The recipes show off the unique approach Venice has taken to food, and for the most part are straightforward and easy to do (I don’t bake....). I’ve tried a number, all successfully. The linguini with asparagus in butter/prosecco sauce is a big hit: elegant, tasty. The sedano al forno takes humble celery to new heights. I’m sure the others will be equally excellent! The book is beautifully designed as well. A joy to look at, and read, and of course to cook by.

I bought this book to my sister who is not really into cooking, but a great fan of Italy. Since she wants to cook more and get a little bit more confidence I thought this book is exactly the right one to give her a boost. She absolutely fall in love with the book and already tried a recipe a week after Christmas, which turned out to be delicious. Highly recommended for food lovers, and Italy fans!

The media could not be loaded.  The advertisement for this did not indicate if it was used or new. When I received the book it was in quite a deplorable state. The cover is worn out, and the pages are well booked through. I was quite appalled at the state of the book so I ended up disinfecting it entirely. Who knows how it was handled. Once I’ve disinfected the book I wrapped it up and it feels as good as a second hand item.
